Banned Ingredients in Foods but still Legal in USA

Interesting the comments. Food safety is a huge concern but not sexy enough for a lot of people to get real excited about. People in the comments for the article sound like it is everyone's responsibility to grow their own. I see value in that of course, but the whole business of letting even encouraging American industry to screw our own people with obscene gusto is just wrong. Add allowing foreign countries to follow suit ... whoa
 
There should be a lost of ingredients that are in the feeds fed to chicken and cows people have the rights to know there is arsenic in chicken feed.
I do not buy orange color cheese b/c cow do not give orange colored milk.
I can remeber going in the kitchen to find my dad sitting at the table with a loaf of Wonder bread and dad had a small ball of bread in his hand and looking at how it stayed together and made no bread crumbs . That was the first and last loaf of Wonder bread to come into our house. I miss the way food use to be made, everything made right here in USA and it taste so fresh and natural . We could even drink the water right from the tap.
I can't do that where I live.
 
Nothing will change in the US until lawsuits are filed and judgements are rendered against those adding these toxic substances to our food. Another option is a boycott of there products, but lawsuits will probably have a bigger effect. The big problem is these corporations that are adding the stuff to our food have their hand in the congress and senate members pockets and they are not going to bring legislation that will end the cash coming into their pockets. We also have to throw in the pharmaceutical companies into the mix who also give a lot of money to our legislators and make a boat load of money from sales of various drugs that combat digestive problems that are caused by these hazardous chemicals that we are putting into our bodies. It's all about the money!
 
i only see little bit of tv programme about decaf coffee and stuff they use is highly poisen so i not going to drink decaff in future or chewing gum that also got load poisenous stuff in it none of which is advertised

A friend of mine was eating a Hershey bar and found some rat hairs in it and freaked out . He called the FDA and was the allowed as the company is allowed 'permissible filth' and can have some rat hairs in their candy . This was years ago so I been aware of this for over 40 years . But it's still gross to me and why I made all my baby food for my baby , my daughter
did not eat one jar of baby food and I brought no candy for her, I made my own candy.

I ate numerous Hershey bars in my life and didn't see anyrhing, so I think you are just exaggerating.

Wrong! I am not exaggerating ! Did you even read the link I posted ?
The FDA allowed companies to have a certain number of rat hairs in their foods and that is why they have 'permissible filth'. Why else would the FDA even bother to have 'permissible filth' if this was not true.

Another one to consider is that the US govt. allows a percentage of rat feces to be in peanut butter, because rats are in the peanut cribs at the factories. I knew the number when I was in packaging, but I can't remember the amount, but I know I haven't had peanut butter since finding out.

when I was in college a college professor told the class that
formaldehyde was in in diet sodas. I told this to a woman I was giving a ride to college b/c she drank a lot of diet sodas and all the time and was complaining about her tongue having some white stuff on it. She freaked out and stopped drinking diet sodas and her tongue cleared up in a few days.
I wonder what was making her tongue get all white for the diet sodas , is was all she really drank . Gross.

unfortunately ALL foods are something that happens to be flaw.. We have to look through our food very careful. some foods are good, but something flaws get in the way that you cant control over it.


For example, my kitty's shedding like crazy and caught into my food. :o

I know but don't you find it disturbing that FDA allow this to happen ?? They say it's OK to have some rat shit and hair in your peanut butter . :shock:
this is why I do not buy premade meals in a box . Now that is your problem getting cat fur in your food , I never had that happen when I had two cats.
 
Companies just find a way to save money. So, low-income can afford to buy and make them slow-death. Profit!

HUH?? If you're talking to me I am a grandma and stopped having babies before you where born. I only wanted one baby not 20 .
 
i use coke to get rid of rust so not sure want drink that,and odd cat hair in my soup better than rats crap in peanut butter,next time in states i not touching your peanut butter
