i like avocado, dip for on nacho, taco, slices on side dishes, but fish nacho? never seen/heard of that :dunno:

avocado is my hubby & my favorite... mmmhhhh I fixed often...

Avocado
juice of half lemon
1 piece fine chopped garlic
1 tablespoon butter
1 fine chopped onion
iodine salt & pepper

All together in mixer machine until they are puree... Spread on full grain bread.... or cold full grain toast.

I like fresh avocado sliced into a salad with tomatoes, lettuce, green onions, and roquefort cheese dressing, with ground black pepper sprinkled on it.

CATFISH TACOS WITH TOMATO AND AVOCADO SALSA

1 cup chopped plum tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped peeled avocado
5 tablespoons fresh lime juice
3 tablespoons chopped green onion
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
3 teaspoons minced jalapeño chilies with seeds

1 pound catfish fillets
2 garlic cloves, minced

4 5- to 6-inch corn or flour tortillas

2 cups thinly sliced curly leaf lettuce
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix tomatoes, avocado, 2 tablespoons lime juice, onion, cilantro, and 2 teaspoons jalapeños in small bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

Place fish in single layer on small rimmed baking sheet. Mix garlic, 3 tablespoons lime juice, and 1 teaspoon jalapeños in another small bowl. Drizzle half of lime juice mixture over fish; reserve remainder. Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper; let stand 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, wrap tortillas in foil, enclosing completely. Place in oven until heated through, about 15 minutes.

Preheat broiler. Broil fish just until opaque in center, about 6 minutes. Cut fish into 1-inch pieces. Top each tortilla with 1/2 cup lettuce, then fish pieces. Drizzle with reserved lime juice mixture. Spoon salsa over; sprinkle with cheese.

Avocados are grown all over this region but no thanks for me......my wife loves the stuff, tho.

Tousi, same thing with mushroom, growing everywhere, do you eat mushroom?

You try it before, angel?

It tastes good to me.

Miss P.

Do you cut the dark green or bright green avocado? Which do you prefer to eat hard or soft?

I am totally familiar with avocado. I am not telling you my answer...

I wasn't aware of color on inside, I just scoop out the stuff that easy to move and didn't bother to scoop the dark green stuff that stick to the outer skin.

:P

:giggle: I used to think of avocado like you do. After I found out that a ripe and soft avocado sprinkled with some salt I liked it. Without the salt it tastes terrible YUCK!

There is nothing wrong with dark green avocado since it is pretty soft. It is easy for you to light chop and light mix with another seasonings and stuffs.

If you want a bright green avocado, it is a bit hard to chop You better watch out your chef knife if you struggle. However, it is ok to purchase bright green avocoados and let them sit on the counter by the kitchen window for a few days or so.

Avocado is a fruit.

The avocado is colloquially known as the Alligator Pear, reflecting its shape and the leather-like appearance of its skin.

Avocados contain oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that may help to lower cholesterol. In one study of people with moderately high cholesterol levels, individuals who ate a diet high in avocados showed clear health improvements.
Avocados are a good source of potassium.
