Anyways, sounds like either RonJaxon or Captioner
Funny you mention that. Because it was the friend of mine who is an iPhone app developer that sent me a link to this yesterday. He was awaiting permission from the people he works for to start working on it and he said his intention was to use google voice like this does. So maybe this will end up working better then the app we where talking about.
I mean I know this is still in it's beta stages but does anyone else see the potential of this? Sure, it's not going to be perfectly accurate yet but from what I've seen it's pretty damn good. I've watched the news on TV with less accuracy to the CC.
But let's looks at where this can lead. Once it's more perfected we might have real time "Auto captioning" of just about any video (Movies in theaters, webcams, business presentations, etc...).
I always said that a part of me wished some of these developers would loose their hearing. Because the technology is out there. They just don't see the need for it. Now here we have a deaf person who has the knowledge and expertise to make it work so he had the drive and understanding of it's potential. My friend, the iphone app developer, said he'd love to see if he can get a hold of this guy about what he had planned. But if this progresses we might not need the iPhone app since many phones can now use google and have the right kind of web browser.
I'm excited at the possibilities with this. I look forward to it's progress.

Ensure the CC feature is on and let the google translator do the rest.Pretty neat. I tried to upload a video and use the text captioning but... well it got royally screwed up somehow. It DID put in time stamps but they weren't at the right times. I'll tweak it some more. I'm hoping it's more on my end (a good likelihood!) and not on youtube/google end.
You did a great job!SQUEEEEE!!!! I did it!!! I had to get rid of my first video attempt. I think I had gotten myself way over my head, it was Lady GaGa's music video for Bad Romance and there's a lot of overlapping speech so it was hard to sort.
Soooo... instead I did one of my favorite World of Warcraft Commercials by Mr. T. What happened was this:
Had to rip the video from another user using Any Video Converter.
Upload that video.
Listen to the commercial and using Notepad typed out everything, line by line.
Uploaded that using the captioning method in the video.
Downloaded the time-stamped version of it.
Watched the video with the new captioning and critiqued.
Play and replayed the video and changed timestamps.
I'm pretty happy with it. The timestamps were a little off and I still would like to change one in particular but you guys can tell me what you think

P.S no I can't do anything about the text size

Man this is so cool.
I just added CC to one of my videos. Let me walk you through it step by step.
I had a video that shows a clip of an episode of the show MASH. I found the subtitles file to this episode on line.
Then I opened the subtitles file with Notebook and removed all the subtitles except for the portion that my clip covers. Then I removed the timing code.
So the first few lines of the original timing code in the subtitles file looked like this:
I removed all the timing code and just left the spoken words. So I ended up with this:
I saved this file on notebook as mashyoutube.txt
Then I fallowed the steps in the Auto Captioning video that starts at 1:30 into the video. Just do what it says to do. It did a good job at putting my captions at the right time to the video.
Here's the finished video.

I attempted to visit there once awhile ago and I am probited to view any videos as I am outside the United States of AmericaJClarke, I consider that you can work to connect hulu.com to viewing American Broadcasting Company (ABC) shows with CC from your country?
