GRAPHIC IMAGES: A Perth man has relived the terrifying moment he was mauled by a lion while on a safari trip in South Africa, just 36 hours after he arrived in the country.

Brendan Smith posted a light-hearted message on his Facebook page with graphic images of the bites, much to his friends' surprise who all reacted with concern and disbelief.

It is believed Mr Smith was on a safari near Johannesburg and was treated at the city's Fourways Life Hospital for his injuries.

He explained how the lion jumped through an open car window and attacked him causing graphic injuries to his legs.

Im sorry it happened to him but why is this newsworthy? Its a commonplace occurence in Africa.

It happened in Africa... What did you expect? Lions to be on their best behavior every time an Aussie visits?

I rather see a video of the attack and call it newsworthy. He didn't die. That's another newsworthy story. This story is so freaking vanilla and bland compared to many other stuff going on.
 
size of lion and car window all cats can judge size of area get body in, no way lion do that the wounds don't look like cat bites lions go straight for the jugular and rip flesh off..i don't believe it happen but the guy going make some money out of it
