Yep, young fellow fans, you heard it right...a sequel to "Enter the Matrix" is in the works for your current console (PS2/XBOX-not sure about GC yet)

Atari and Warner Bros. Interactive will be working on two sequels (yes two!) as the sequel to "Enter The Matrix" will be coming to your current console while the third and final sequel in the Matrix videogame triogloy will most likely be in the next gen console which would be around 2005 or 2006.

You proably would control other characters rather than Neo, but I'm not entirely sure yet because they just said that they are already working on two sequels now and the one for the PC, which Ubi soft was orginally gonna work on it for the PC version, Sega decided to take over their development of that title and finish it up for them as it arrives in stores soon.

In other news, Warner Bros. has given us a hint that a 4th matrix film is in the works, but not very sure when there's a possiblity for that to happen. The cast of the triogloy proably won't return in the 4th matrix film so proably just an all-new cast, instead but not very sure when it would likely to be made. live action or animated...I'm not sure about that either.

I'm pretty excited that there would be two more matrix games coming, so I'm looking forward a sequel. :D

"Enter the Matrix" been named the worst movie game, accord in EGM.

thank godness, I didn't play that game.

Actually, I own that game for the Xbox and frankly, I've took enough admireness to this game, even though it's a little buggy and weird, but it stayed true to the Matrix movies.

Just rent that game and let me know what you think about it. renting may be better than buying it, because "Enter the Matrix" wasn't really long though.

good thing it's now $19.99 on all three major consoles.

Actually, the fourth film itself may be in fact, from Enter the Matrix. Only they'll add more to it, and it will be direct-to-video.

That's what I heard, but it's only a rumour.

Hmm... probably a spin-off or done in a different style? :dunno:

Yeah, something like that. But they'll take all the footage that they shot for the video game. Over an hour from what I heard, and they may as well add more special effects to them.

It should be a good move, I'll say.

August 16, 2004 - At a recent Atari press event, Executive Vice President Wim Stocks dropped a few clues as to what we can expect from Atari in the future.

While the core of his speech focused on current projects such as Pirates!, Demonstone and D&D Online, Wim also talked a bit about the next series of games Atari plans to develop. While no specific titles were mentioned, Wim said that "some of these titles draw on the Atari legacy" and will be easily recognizable to anyone who has followed the history of Atari.

Another tidbit worth mentioning is Atari's continued support for the Matrix franchise. While no new Matrix titles were officially announced at the press conference, Wim did let us know that Atari has plans to continue producing games set in the Matrix universe. "We know the Matrix fans want more," he told us. And "we have a couple more Matrix stories in us."

Expect to hear more about any new announcements from Atari as we hear them.
