ASL teacher - new to this site

SDuper BIG welcome to AD from another newbie....btw I'm just now learning some sign. Is it possible to become fluent in it without taking a class? Say..over the internet?

Thanks and again; welcome!

Unless you have a good webcam and a really good internet connection it might be very difficult

Not always, but if you have a webcam or videophone(VP) on the internet, then it is great to try to communicate fluently. But if you are trying to learn ASL from a book or looking at pictures on internet without going to class, then it is impossible to sign ASL fluently. There are two different ways to look at. Most of the time it is easier by looking at the person who sign really good in ASL when you communicate with a Deaf person or people in the Deaf Social. You will get the general idea how to sign better. Hope that help. :cool2:

Welcome to AD! I hope you like it! People who are deaf and hearing fit well together here and people like you are always welcome!
