Art work by deaf artist

Well, at first I couldn't figure out what the heck it meant. I am not impressed with the poster, and I am sure many would be confused. Now I see what it is, it's the electrodes inside the ear, but hello? ha ha ha ha ha. It's a laughable poster.

I would have liked my mother to implant me as a child, so how can you say every child feel this way? After all, a parent is the only person who can make that choice.

Very sad "artist." (quote around because I don't believe he is quiet one).

The artist is quite narrow-minded.

Yup, she is (the artist, that is) -- quite narrow-minded, that's for sure.
She obviously didn't do her research on how well the CI does for the individuals who got CI's and how they like it, etc. Sure there may be a handful who aren't happy with it, but it doesn't apply to the whole of who have CI's and are HAPPY with it.

Elizabeth Morris' anti CI artwork is pretty disturbing to me, too, and I could see how it touches a sensitive subject for many. But she does has a right to express her opinion artistically, and I'm still waiting for pro CI artwork ;) What's stopping you?

 ...

I personally don't see this artist as being a ' closed minder ', since this artist may feel that children should have a choice in it too not just the parents ALONE, it more to do with the child's right of having a CI ....I'm not against CI but I am supporting the child's right!....

Just remember there are web sites and photos out there with children with ci and they do have a smile on their face, I don't call them ' closed minder ' or any other names, not everyone see it the same way but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to express their opinion or how they see it....

Just my two cents worth!

*Sigh* Just Remember People in the World have the Right to have an opinion and that doesn't give us a right to call someone closed minded or narrow-minded...I believe a Child has the Right to be Part of any Discussion that is made regarding her life. Rather she wants to hear or not. :thumb:

Once I click that link to see the pic of a little girl... know what I see ? I see "guinea pig" all over the child's face... playin' with that child's rights by controlled adults over that child's future. Why can't they just leave the child alone and let the child decide whateva she/he wants to do with their hearin' loss ?

If, I had a deaf child I would give many options to him/her and for that child to decide when she/he gets older to know what's the risk or not by explorin' through it and get to know what the procedure would do if, success or not. I mean, everything that the deaf child have the rights to know.........

As its for me, I am happy with bein' deaf and I have no problem with it as long as I have my own skills and talents! :thumb:
