I have no problem with online donation but security in border needs to fix so badly before they could put the fence up with federal money. The drug cartels are out of control and war on drugs are broken.

Yup, I want biggest immigration reform to pass with bipartisan (half from DEM's idea, half from GOP's idea), especially Dream Act but improvement of security and control on illegal immigrants need add to that too.
 
This donation drive reeks of a scam. Once they find out there is not nearly enough moolah to build the wall, where does it go?

People would rather to face the wall then face thugs. They are continuously exposed to violence activities daily. They have been afraid for long, long, time, and have enough of it. Those people have to cross Mexico to arrive U.S. soil from Central American countries like El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras. Putting up the wall force them to find the other way to get around and will pay thugs- human smugglers to take them there, Poweron.

A few years ago, Marines from Camp Pendelton, CA in San Diego County, and other bases in Southern AZ are not permitted to enter Mexico for security reasons. The policy is in effect now.

Our Governor Rick Perry opposes the border fence. He wants a free flow of commerce.
 
The thugs have better weapons than law enforcement. It would take militarization to close the US/Mexico border. I doubt that will happen. I agree that something needs to be done for the safety of Americans.

Unfortunately, there have been recent local reports in San Diego corrupt border agents have gone bad and are being paid to do horrible things.

Most drugs in small amounts are legal in Mexico. It doesn't help at all. If marijuana is legalized, the cartels will move on to other popular drugs like cocaine and meth.

What kind of commerce can't flow freely thru legal entry points?

He didn't say what kind of commerce, but I suppose it is for businesses in general. The entry points are legal, but that is not always case. Agents at the entry points may be corrupt and can't be trusted. It is still happening now. Governor Rick Perry thinks like a businessman, because he is. He did say "we wants to make sure good guys get through, bad guys get caught." He considers Mexico "our good neighbor", because it brings economics to Texas. He claims he has to ensure the border is secure, but he didn't say how the border is secure. His goal is economics, not the border security.

I note that he was a Democrat until 1989, then switched sides. Does his stance on this issue reflect the opinions of the majority of Texas Republicans?
 
I am not sure, but I believe they are disappointed with his decision on the border fence. Before he was recent elected again, they didn't have choice, but to vote him again, because there was no other popular Republican with potential out there in Texas running for the governorship against Perry and White from Houston. In my city, it appears that I encounter Moderates, Liberals, Libertarians, and Ron Paul supporters than Republicans. Texas local news mention most TX border mayors are opposed to the border fence and they are members of the Republican and Democratic parties. They'd rather to beef up the border security without building the wall itself.

Umm.....here's the thing.

Pot tax,business license, FDA approval, business tax for the grower,business tax for the distributor,benefits for workers,license boards,import costs or wage of the american worker, not to mention fraud and fraud enforcement.

add that all in to the price and people will still buy the illegal stuff instead. People who can go to Mexico for their prescriptions now.....
 
Maybe. In California, medical marijuana is fairly expensive. I heard that LA passed Measure M. That means those patients will have to pay extra 5% tax to buy medical marijuana- total of sales tax- almost 15%. Of course, those patients are not too happy about it.
