Are You a Yankee or a Rebel? Quiz

100% Dixie. Is General Lee your grandfather?!

22%, a Yankee Doodle Dandy. Can't take the Massachusetts out of the girl, I guess. Still call rubber bands "elastics", too.

53% Dixie. Barely in Dixie

Well I'm from West Coast.... but I guess the Southern in me hasn't gone away.... My grandparents on my Dad's side is from the South....

25% Dixie. You are a dandy Yankee Doodle.

Obviously, I am more Yankee than a redneck even though I was born in NE Ohio.

59% Dixie. Barely in Dixie. I blame speech therapy.......

i am yankee because because my mother family come from tennessee and my father family come from missippii and me while i was born in newyork,so that mean i am newyorker 100% and some of my family have a strong southern accent but me i don't have a southern accent because i am a native newyorker.

86% Dixie. Do you still use Confederate money?

 What can I say. Born and raised in the south!

Jolie77,

Even though it is in fun, a lot of southerners don't think it's a matter to laugh at, though I do. If I'm not mistaken, this was done by another poster a few years ago and the thread really got out of hand and had to be shutdown. It's a "Pandora's Box," if you understand me.

Ah, Well - I don't think it's in relation of opening the "Pandora's Box" in this case because the purpose of this quiz is meant to be silly. It isn't meant to be taken seriously. As for the other thread from years ago that got out of hand; It went out of hand for a reason, obviously but that should not let it affect this thread because it is a separate thread.

I've been in the south long enough to know that they would laugh at it too. I mean, Why would they not laugh at it when everything shouldn't be taken too seriously? :)

I agree... I find it humorous. I thought I would get a higher percentage in being a Dixie!

Found out I have a little Yankee in me... by answering each questions individually... Some of them were Yankee answers.

but overall score was being a Dixie. :)

from NJ and my score was 100% Dixie.

Is General Lee your grandfather?! (no but they fought with him)

62% Dixie. Well under the Mason-Dixon Line

That's interesting. :)

I have to remind everyone that we should take these tests with a grain of salt. There's a lot of variables involved that the test makers did not take into consideration. So if you consider yourself a Rebel, and it says your not - be comfortable with whatever label you choose.

There is one question that I am wondering about is the word "Dixie" and what is that word mean? I have never been in the Southeast like Alabama or Mississippi or Georgia or any other states that is half of the south of United States. So can you explain what that word in your southern drawl language or in clear common language. Thank you. :D

Dixie is actually name of a song that the Confederate Soldiers often sang during the Civil War. I believe the official title is called "I Wish I Was in Old Dixie" which speaks about the greatness of the south. It's a battle tune turned a folk tune from the South over the years.
