Are there any train lovers here?

One item to consider though is that on the train you're limited to where it can go. I agree that the subway and buses is much cheaper than driving your own vehicle. But what if you want to go beyond the rails? Chicago is a big city and it can get tiring walking around everywhere.

That's why I "power walk", so I don't tire as easily.

Here, they just have machines, you walk up swipe card or insert cash and press a button, beep beep and out pops a ticket for whatever you choose for it to do, either round trip, one way,,,multi trains..ect...

Ive never used it but know a few who has... Id get lost and have to walk home...lol

Not if you have someone experienced with you.

Is the topic about loving trains or using as a main source of transportation, there is a difference between the 2 and so far it looks geared towards using as a main source of transportation and nothing about loving them as a hobby or history here.

Either one.

Power walking takes more effort....? You mean baby steps?

Nope. I actually do it. I can get from Point A to Point B fairly quickly on my feet.

Example: very recently I covered 1.2 miles in under 20 minutes, and I am capable of riding 8-10 miles in under an hour on my bicycle.

You know the average human walks 3mph.....

Well, getting held up at University Park last Sunday due to a medical emergency taught me how to be patient, because I knew #392 wasn't supposed to stop there, but it had to. My train app showed the train arriving at 9:15 PM, thirty minutes ahead of schedule until the emergency happened. We pulled in just after 10 that night, and I got to Howard just after 11:45 PM, and got here just past midnight.

I like this train
