I was thinking of all forums where people write reviews. It can be anything from a book you read, place to stay at, or store you do business with.

Have you ever wrote reviews? Do you wonder if your review can be deleted for being too negative? Have this happened with you before? I realize that isn't like Facebook where negative comments can be easily deleted.

Do you see a lot of positive reviews and wonder if they were all positive or do you think they look good because bad reviews were deleted?

When I see a lot if positive reviews I figure the owner made them and pressured employees to make them. People don't often, I'm saying never but often, take time or go out of their way way to do/say something positive. But if someone is mad? Oh yeah they'll be more motivated to do something about it. When I go to reviews I kind if count on there being more negative ones than positive just for that reason.

I did have a client at massage envy that left a great review for massage envy myrtle beaching google reviews. I must be just that awesome ;) *pats self on back*

I used those reviews when picking our hotel in New Orleans because of my bad experience with bed bugs. We found a great hotel for a reasonable price and our stay was positive. Definitely will stay there again the next time we go to New Orleans. The reviews helped me.

One other thing I thought about is that people don't write reviews just to write reviews. They write reviews if owner offers them discount on next stay or purchase for the positive feedback. Also, people may write reviews if they thinks it'll give them a good advantage to get better deal on future transactions.

I've written reviews on yelp.com and tripadvisor.com because I believe in karma and "paying it forward". Lots of times I plan trips but am unsure where to go and what to do so I rely on reviews and have found them to be real helpful. So it's only good karma that I post reviews of my own. I even try to find hole-in-the-wall places that nobody's heard of just to "take one for the team" and post a review.

Most of my reviews are good and it helps the well-deserving business earn more income. But yeah I do notice that sometimes businesses will get 5 star reviews all within a few days of each other. That is a big red flag and tells me to avoid that place.

My friend bought a product and had trouble with it. The company replaced it and told him they will take some percentage off the price if he writes a good review about the product. I get the feeling some companies are like that, manipulate the reviews like that.

I've written reviews praising good places and shaming bad places.

If you're reading them, you need to take them with a big pinch of salt - how plausible does it sound?

The only place I write reviews is Google Play-- mainly about products for the deaf. I wrote reviews for some of the mobile VP's for my phone and Asus tablet. They're still there now, as I recently visited the mobile VP section a few days ago. :)

I read tripadvisor.com reviews, thank you A Nihilst. It is helpful to read what others see before going in cold. The ones that have some accurate description in them really help good or bad. I have gone to places with bad reviews because the price was right and found them to be just fine.

I generally read reviews for online purchases, and I'll read them all (or at least a bunch, and a variety of good and bad). If I see bad ones I'll go and look at them to see what the complaint was about (oftentimes it's shipping or something not being received on time, but sometimes it's on the product itself and I take everything into account.
