Are Heads Rolling in Green Bay??

Dead Money.. do ya have facts to prove that Barry Sanders did indeed ask for money and quit playing for the Lions on top of his game? I have often wondered why he did leave the Lions......

QUOTE]

I dont have time to go fact-digging right now but thats what i remember about it. Wayne Fontes was asking for a contract extention as well (the head coach) and Sanders didnt want to play for anyone else. But he *would* if the Lions gave him the deal he wanted. He then threatened to sit out the season and retire, the lions called his bluff and sure enough he retired lol

Yeah we will see how Brett Favre do with the Jets... should be interesting to watch...

Tousi..true most athletes in the sports do retire not well.... some due to injury that is too much to continue the careers..some due to other things... when ya feel ya are ready to leave the game with good positive feelings ya have done everything ya wanted to do and have done and more... then it a good way to go out on good style and timing.. but if injuries and concussions are factors in that, then the careers would be shortened somehow for some major stars....

Dead Money is correct about Barry Sanders. I remember this situation very well like yesterday. In addition, he got more and more tired of the Lions' losing culture on the latter part of his career.

Not many of the greats in most professional sports retire well.

Very true

Here's a few good examples below:

Barry Sanders

Guy Lafleur (former Montreal Canadiens great)

and many more...

It s good for both sides. Jets get QB that doesn't have noodle arm and Packers get draft pick which IMO will net them first round draft pick since Favre by himself can get Jets to playoff.

But would Favre bring superbowl to Jets? Nah.

Brady to SF but would be nice!!! *laughs* I know NE will hold him till hes pencil to retire.

SF 49ers is in somewhat much better than last two seasons.

That rumor of Tom Brady to SF really is something... but seriously, would New England be willing to let him go? that will be really a mess if it actually did happen like it did with Brett Favre and Green Bay..I hope not...

NE Patriots are not that dumb to let go Brady :P

Link? Or you just heard it from dog on the street?

I know that, Ocean.. ya have nothing to worry about but it might be a long time till Tom decides to leave on his own accord, either to retire a Patriot or to play for another team for a bit then retire finally...

:werd: It will not happen for a long while.

I agree with ya on that, Royale.. it would be maybe 10 more years or so till that issue come up...

No I was making a theory on this as we have seen the horsecrap flying all over with Brett Favre and Green Bay and etc and I had suggested the idea of suppose what would happen if stars like Tom Brady decide to leave NE and force a trade or so.. it would be unimaginable for this... its not a rumor but a theory idea...

Ah its you that want to spread rumors. Theory and rumors are two entire different things ;).

NE will do the same thing when Brady is in his late 30's. It alrady always been that way. Football teams are all about young man's game.

Well if I wanted to spread some rumors I would have done some jumping and yelling and garnering attentoin to false rumors but that aint even my style, bubba.... I just merely suggested a theory about that and who knew it would get something with the attention... simple enough...

Yeah when Tom is in his late 30s I would think he will decide to remain with NE and retire a Patriot or move on gracefully with another team.. dunno on that...

Maybe Favre wanted a challenge... and help improve the Jets?

Phfft on Brady - I supported the Pats against the Giants during Superbowl. ;)

NFL : Favre shld stay home with his family

:D Yeah, We will have to wait and see how Favre could play for New York Jets this year .. However , I doubt that he will bring his team to Super Bowl . He just wanted to get out of retirement and play for the teams .. its not about the money he is interest in but he stated that he loves to play football since his childhood . If I were him , I would eventually retired and stay focus on families at home and have a great moment of memories in year to comes .

Nah. U wouldn't know because you dont breathe football. It is well known that athletics doesn't want to hang up their shoes and would play until they literally cannot move anymore.

Favre's feeling that he still is capable of throwing football. Packers is idiot for letting this guy go after what he had done for Packers last year.

FK Pats. You are supporting bunch of cheaters and that is shame on you.

Brady will hang his #12 at his timing:P

Yeah I know, Ocean... I just am making a good suggestion about what would happen and etc.. I am pretty sure Tom knows what he is doing and etc..

Of course he does :D Go Patriots!!!

:nono: It appears your suggestions make rumors:P

Ocean.. nooooo I aint gonna do rumor craps.. hahahaha funny.. I said I am just offering theories and etc and think about it, what happened with Brett could happen with other star athletes and more... it aint even rumors unless there solid proof of something that gonna happen in a short amount of time... ppftttt hahaha...
