April Jobs report: Best gain in four years

It's better than losing jobs......I just think it is too early to start cheering.

I was traveling until 2 weeks ago. Got in a bad car accident my first day home. Bad concussion. Hard to look at my screen without pain. Getting better though.

Welcome back to AD.

I'm happy about job gains, despite on unemployment rate.

I will be cheer if we are getting out of recession soon, could be this year or next year.

Out of a recession? Not while Obama is in office if continues with his tax and spend policy.

Damn TXgolfer, glad you're getting better.

Glad to see you back. Was wondering why you went silent. Hope this does not change your golf swing...:eek3:

TXgolfer. That's the big dirty secret. They hold up saying how more jobs were "created" but in all actuality it's the private job gains that are the most important since that's where taxes can be collected to help pay the federal govt and its programs and agencies.

still quibbling....

What is the point of this post?

I remember when the April figures came out and unemployment went from 9.7% to 9.9%, the President claimed that the rise was due to people feeling more optimistic about the economy and jumping back into the jobs market. If that were true, you would expect the U-6 rate, which includes the discouraged, to go down, but it actually went up.

"Unemployment going down=good! Unemployment going up=good!" I could really use a leader who will just tell it like it is instead of spinning bad news as good news with no evidence.

Thanks to EU for delaying to be out of recession, especially Greece.

If economy in EU crash then it will affect our country and rest of them over the world.

 Yeah blame the EU......That will eventually be the case but it hardly affected May numbers........Given that you blame the EU though, do you think it is wise that we follow the EU model as an entitlement rich country????

I think our government need suspend or cut the spending until we are getting out of recession and trillion dollars in debt isn't going surprise me. I do worry about what is going on with democrats and if they don't so they could lose to republicans, possibly anti-gay and no target to moderate voters.

I'm no Tea Party and I'm just favor in common sense.

Yup, As I said while people celebrated the April numbers......

Not to be negative......but

March and April job numbers are usually taken with a grain of salt. Those are the months when most of the summer jobs are hiring. It's also when tax services do alot of hiring. Add to that 2010 being a census year and you pretty much have your explanation.

It's interesting that the O admin has been ignoring the "real unemployment" figures until now. That is the figure that include people not looking for work. But now they choose to blame " r u" for the rise to 9.9%.

If he is claiming that the stimulus created these jobs I hope he is working on his excuse for September and October's numbers when those census and summer jobs go away

This is most likely just the start of the bad numbers.

Maybe not. My brother just hired more permanent workers. So did the factory we order from. So did his friends in the landscaping and construction business. All this is just MY circle of acquaintances. :dunno:
