Anyone want to be a friend to a hoh girl and help with asl

And I am new here
I am HOH and I am just starting to learn ASL. I really just want to make friends hearing, deaf, HOH it doesn't matter. If anyone is welling to help me out with learning or just talking at a beginner level of ASL I would really appreciate it. I do have Skype and everything else
 
Hello! I'm hearing and learning asl, I'm still in the beginning stages. I'm 15 and hoping to make friends as well that I can sign with. Feel free to message me if you'd like to talk!

Welcome! How old are you? Are you still in school? It's AWESOME that you're HOH and learning ASL! If you're still in high school, and want to go further, there's a TON of amazing resources out there! You could attend your state's School for the Deaf, or MSSD (the School for the Deaf in Washington DC) Some states have regional dhh programs where you could learn ASL as a second language. It's actually not that unusal for new to ASL teens to come to schools or programs for the Deaf, not knowing any ASL! There are also summer camps where you could learn by immersian! There's a lot of stuff out there...Where are you? Maybe we can point you towards some good local resources, and before you know it, you'd be fluent in NO TIME at ALL!

My school is just a regular school that doesn't do anything for me it be cool just to see it

Here is a listing of Deaf Schools and programs! https://www.gallaudet.edu/clerc-cen...ces-and-directories/schools-and-programs.html Contact your state's School for the Deaf, and ask them if there are any dhh programs near you. You could also look into MSSD, which is the national School for the Deaf on the campus of Gallaudet University. The quality of Deaf schools varies a lot but there are some very good quality ones. Also a lot do have the potential to turn out some well educated students. I definitly think that if your school doesn't offer a lot, that a Deaf School or a dhh program could really help you! Also for this coming summer, check out Deaf Camps!!! There's all kinds of Deaf camps, from state school based, to sports to Christian, to traditional ones..... As someone who is HOH, DEFINTLY look into those schools, programs and camps. I've seen so many HOH kids be all nervous about "Oh I won't fit in, "Oh I'm too "hearing" ... They then take the plunge with Deaf camp or deaf school/program, and it adds SO MUCH to their experience, so they are thriving rather then doggy paddling!

Haha I go to Gallaudet. I'm in the Bai program. (bacholor in interpreting) program
 
Hey! I'm new to sign. I've been watching Bill Vicars classes on youtube, and I have learned quite a bit. I don't have anyone I can practice with. I'm on his ASL 2 list of videos, episode 17 to be exact. I would love a signing buddy, so I am totally willing to help you learn, which will also help me learn!
