i cant help thinkin about new hd webcam with a 3.0 usb

I never heard of that before. The problem would be the bandwidth when running a HD recording over the internet with someone with slower connection, which would be a bad idea. Many average users with cable internet cannot keep up with a good quality HD streaming without buffering or freezing. Unless, they come up with a good compression technology.

that is true.. welll 12 to 30 mbps would do hd streaming. my motherboard had 3.0 usb slot..

Not surprised, Foxrac. USB 2.0 has a bandwidth of about 60 MB/sec so that's plenty for HD data.

Yup, just like my keyboard and mouse require USB 2.0 as minimum because my keyboard has LED built-in and mouse has additional hardware that help to use so flawlessly without need driver, works on Mac too and I can control the speed on mouse without need across to computer preference setting.

yeah i know about that neweggs from 2.0 usb hd webcam. just think about it how it is different from 2.0?

No difference. USB 2.0 should handle so fine and there are no USB 3.0 based webcam on market yet.

I think it's too new but wait for a while and USB 3.0 devices will be common. Firewire still rocks though.

Lol, I'm not in that speed range....I'm at around 8-10 mbps. Not enough for HD streaming, sad.

I heard about 6 mbps can do HD streaming at minimum but you have make sure if no one share your internet to get full 6 mbps speed.

I never forgot about cable internet, they are usually share with neighbors so that why you don't get full speed in neighborhood until after midnight or depends on how many people using on cable internet. I used had Roadrunner cable internet in 2006 with 5 mbps but only got under 2 mbps at heavily usage, especially afternoon until midnight.

DSL wins on full speed and you are on dedicated line but speed options on DSL are more limited to depends on DSLAM in your area.

I never like Auto frames per second by how much strong or weak light.

My laptop with built-in webcam. I got range 8 to 12 auto frames per second.
My older webcam/USB make smooth video at 25 frames per second but grain in color. I made set up in B&W. It look great image

I'm fine with my 1.3mp webcam. I rarely use the webcam, lol. I like videos and pictures from a digital camera/phone. Not into vlogging and I don't webcam to chat with people that much.
