Anyone planning on going to Melbourne's Deaflympics in 2005?????

I'm still anticipating the event! I've volunteered to be a 'translator' for ASL to Auslan and vice versa since I know both sign language....hoping I'll get that, ha.
When is the Japan event happening? I was surprised to hear about Japan...didn't even hear anything about it, :Oops:

I think it'd be cool if I could go to Japan one day as I'm part Japanese! :)

no offense to you that i am not going to australia. I would prefer to go to Japan plus Iran may not make it into Australia this year but for sure they are going to Japan :) I have a special man in the Iran soccer team :) I have the tape of the soccer game in Italy that he gave me, but I have to convert it to American tape, you see the VCR system is different in Iran it is more French style but anyways I saw part of the tape when I was in Iran and it looks like lots of fun!!! Please if any one of you are going there, let me know so you can say hi to the Iran team :) and I can tell you who to talk to and they would love to talk to Americans, the government NOT the people are agains USA. I gave him a book on ASL with farsi translation (my cousin wrote the farsi translation)

No offence taken. :) I didn't mean to sound like that I wanted EVERYONE to come to Australia by force. :P
Just hope that one day you'll be able to visit Australia on a holiday or something.

I assure you that Melbourne's a beautiful place! Weatherwise, it's quite similar to California's climate -- just a tad bit unpredictable at times. Famous for its 4 seasons in one day, not kidding. :D

Well hopefully I'll be going. I've been wanting to go to Australia all my life and eventually I hope to move there and settle.. but I have to touch it first.

I'll be trying out for the US Deaflympic volleyball team.

Well...now it's been 4 days since this thread was active -- sure hope more people will come in here and reply. Plus, I am aware that it's a bit early in asking who are coming to the 2005 Deaflympics in Melbourne, Australia. Perhaps I'll wait a bit longer...say in a year's time and re-post a new request and see how many more are coming, heh. ;)
 
I don't think I would go there. But, I will wait for Deaflympics 2007 for Winter at UT (USA). I plan to go there! :D

Bugger you! :P I won't be able to fly over to USA for the 2007 Winter Deaflympics, but again who knows? Maybe I'll be able to save up enough to fly over there for that event PLUS travel a bit around USA. Wait and see see.

Okay hopefully i'm going..

but first.. i can't predict how much money it will cost to fly in 2005.. since u can't buy tickets more than 280 days ahead or so..

second... i'm starting to save my money to go there!

third.. who's willing to scuba diving with me??????????/ i'm dying to go scuba in australia!

Ok...I could ask my father in law as he loves to go scuba diving, but rarely goes cos can't find anyone to go with him. :D I can ask him if you wish when the time comes up. ;)

wanted to make mention anyone can go diving in australia after completing a 5 day course to get certifed by the PADI while in Australia (bro in law did it recently!). I would join you deafscuba if I could go to Australia, but it's still a few years too far off in the future to make plans and I'm not too much of a sports fan even if it's the deaflympics!

:lol: Well, me neither - I'm not big on sports events -- only a few...but hey, Deaflmpics is an event where the deafies will be socialising more than watching the events, I reckon. ;)
We all can meet up and chitter all night long...and go scuba divin for some of you -- heheh...

accually it's not few years far.. it's 14 months left to go.. amazing? really it's good time to plan.. save money now.. and etc...

Amazing, hey? It's funny..when we want to something right away and time seems so SLOW...but if something that is quite in the future like deaflympics -- seems so far away...all of a sudden it's nearly here! :)

You know what I mean? ;) Hope to meet some of you AD'ers here! It'd be awesome!

i know id LOVEEEEEEEEE to be able to go out to Australia -- dunno if i would be able to head out there in 2005 -- only thing i DO NOT like envisioning is dealing with a VERY long flight!!!! :o not very comfy!!!!

LOL true almost 1 full day to fly there.. yikes..
maybe take a expensive flight world fastest passensager plane which from NYC to London, england 2 hours.. heard of that? but it's expensive. hope u know what plane i'm talking about
 
after careful consideration there is now a very strong possioblity i will fly out to aussie for the 2005 thing! :) heh and may bring my grrl with me but we'll see how our finances goes this yr and next and if its to be then ofc we're on our way :) hope u all do come it ll be fun and ofc SEEING MY MATE WATERRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you talking about the Concorde? If that is the case -- the Concorde has ceased to be used for such flights. I saw it on the news a month and half ago or so. :dunno: much about it, but am pretty certain it happened recently.
