anyone here enjoy shooting guns? for sport or hunting.

Uhm, NOPE! Most Police Officers do support concealed carry laws for private citizens as long as they have a backgroung check done and proper training. They may have to be our backup one day. jillio, speaking from the stand point that I have been in law enforcement for over 18 years and contrary to poular belief I know significantly more about law enforcement and officers attitudes then you will ever know! Not trying to put you down here, it's just the facts mam! Good day!

wish NJ is like that. Most LEOs in NJ doesn't support CCW. they're paranoid and hardass

TXgolfer: Shotgun vs cow patties! that made me laugh out loud! bet it was hella fun too!

Airportcop: Colt Python .357? dayum I'm jealous! But, wait! how about we show up at your friends front door the day it comes out of layaway? j/k

Open question: What is your favorite type of shooting target besides cow patties? I really like the Birchwood Casey Darkotic splatter targets. The high viz feedback is excellent compared to normal paper targets. See attachments

P.S. I was using my 4" S&W .38 revolver @ 50ft w/ REM UMC .38+p 125 gr. SJHP. I know I'm shooting "low" and "right" but this was my first day at the range with this ammo and I forgot to bring my windage adjustment tool.

Hi viz targets are cool. I like pop cans and plastic milk jugs with water and metal plates.

I take it you have private property to do your shooting? Its cool to witness the physical energy damage of the pop cans, milk jugs etc... Unfortunately I can't shoot any metal or glass at the shooting range..rules...rules..rules...

We can't use glass, hard plastic, metal, or clay targets at our outdoor range. We use cardboard and paper targets there. I like the high viz bright colored ones for outdoors use.

Boggy Head is free to use. If you don't go on a Saturday, you usually don't have to wait for a station. It's way out in the woods. A nice setting but a bit of a drive.

We use paper targets at our indoor range. We usually use the large format plain cheap ones there. We clip the targets to moveable tracks. ATP isn't too far from our house.

ATP Gunshop & Range

Annual range membership is $125, which includes unlimited visits by the member and one guest. Otherwise, I think it costs $5 per visit.

Now you are adding addendums to your original statement, which is a clear cut indication that your original statement was either an error, or a deliberate attempt to distort the facts.

You might want to check the actual data collected on officer attitudes regarding concealed carry and open carry laws. You are assuming that all officers think and believe as you do.:cool2: The data indicates otherwise.

Let's see the proof! I don't need it because I am in the profession and know the truth but I believe that others would like to see what you come up with. I added nothing but rather clarified as to exactly what I was speaking of. What do think I am some not job that thinks all cops support any old convicted felon or mentally ill person carrying a concealed weapon? You are trolling once again. Go back under the bridge or fish elsewhere!

So because you are "in the profession" you automatically know the stance of every other person in the profession? That is a bit of an unrealistic claim.:cool2:

Yes, you clarified by adding an addendum to your original statement.:cool2: When you start listing exceptions to your origninal claim, it nullifies the truth of the original claim.

I like cans and bottles. Paper targets on occasion.

It gives me the insight and knowledge of how other officers feel. I have also learned of the stats on what other officers think about it. Uh, let's see, saying that police officers support concealed carry laws for citizens is different from saying police officers support concealed carry for citizens as long as they have background checks and proper training differs how exactly??? Without the background checks and training it wouldn't be legal and we wouldn't support it! Duh!!!!!

It was a blast.... oh wait :giggle:

I've got try the cow patties! Sounds like much fun! I like shooting glass too but it is too messy and you could never get away with that at a public range. If you haven't shot metal plate targets then you are really missing out on the fun too. Some are set up to fall, some spin! Really cool!

I like historical military weapons as well! Cowboy shooting looks like fun. Skeet and trap are fun. Anyone here ever shoot a fully automatic weapon? I have once and it was mighty cool! It was a 9mm Steyr Aug! 30 rounds gone in seconds! A little too costly for me though.

I really wish I purchased an SKS or AK before the price went so high. Anyone here shoot them?

I recently got rid of my AK-M. It was fun to shoot at the river, and easy to field strip.

Care to present those stats here as support for your claim?

You have insight and knowlege regarding how you, as an officer, feels. But since all experiences of all officers are far from homogenous, you cannot transfer your perspective to others.

Yes, it is quite different, and that is evident by the fact that you had to parse it as two different phrases. Of course concealed carry could be legal without background checks and training. Where do you get the idea that it couldn't?
