Anyone Heard Of Or Use Nextdoor?

I have used it where I live. It's great to catch up on the neighborhood gossip, but the unfortunate side of it is, it turns people into junior policemen and paranoid snoops.

LOL! I guess I am going to pass on this then , I am not into hearing about the neighborhood gossip. I guess people don't gossip over their white picket fence anymore in nice weather they do it on line all year long on line .

It actually brings a little bit of humor to your life because you realize on Nextdoor how many people just sit by their window and snoop on neighbors and the world that goes on around them. Until the site, I didn't realize I had so many crazy neighbors!

I had a neighbor that was 90 yo and she would spy on me when I took my dog out. She would peep from behind her window shade all the time and had no idea I could see her. She no longer lives here , I liked her most the of all my neighbors . I see neighbors snooping on me all the time , I never snooped on people until I moved here but
will snoop on people that snoop on me .
 
Way back in the 1960's a next door neighbor couple (in a house not condo) had her stepmother, whom they were very close to, living with them. She was up in years and not that mobile. The daughter, who was a friend of my mother from way back told mom that her stepmother really enjoyed seeing what I was wearing, etc. as I came and went each workday. I told them I was glad I could add some pleasure to her day just coming and going. A friend, who had grown up across the street and knew everyone involved, said she would not have liked being watched that way. Such a different reaction years later after growing up together as very close friends.
 
Our Neighborhood watch lady tried it and she said it ended up with too much junk in it. People use it to sell items etc. She said she received a lot of junk emails from it. She tried it first and suggested that our group really didn't need it.

:ty: Now I know I am not going to use this , I found out you have to use your real name and address too. That is too bad people use it for the wrong reasons.
 
We just have a FaceBook "group" for our neighborhood. That way we can all converse among each other and alert of any weird stuff. This does mean we all know each others' names because it's on FB, but we trust each other and it's a "closed group" so nobody outside our group can snoop in.

I got another email trying to get me to sign up and I decided not to use it from what I been hearing about it. I saw another web site on TV that is new
I can't recall what it called or uses for .
