WI people

WI people? If you were not american it would be as bad as being a canadian. Who wants to live in WI ? Deaf people only go there if they are being punished
 
Hey now! I'm a CODA from Wisconsin; Milwaukee in fact. It is not as bad as people say.

I am deaf from Milwaukee, WI! Ofc we have deaf people there but not many lesbians....they are kinda of closed-mind sometime

Rather stupid post -- there are others from Wisconsin here.

And, I live in Minnesota. We're right next door to Wisconsin. Sure, we make fun of them. They make fun of us. But to "only go there if there if they're being punished" ????

I grew up in Milwaukee from the age of 4 til I was 20 and then lived in a couple of small towns for a year. I left Wisconsin for good when I was 21. I live in San Antonio, Texas now since 2006. I plan to move to Austin in a couple years as Austin is more liberal and has a bigger Deaf GLBT community there. I spent a weekend in Austin last fall and I enjoyed it thoroughly and had too much fun.

I love Madison. It is a cool and GLBT friendly liberal town. I've been there so many times I've lost count. They also have a great med school and a great teaching hospital. That same hospital saved my friend's life when she was born with SCIDS. (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Syndrome). Basically what it means is, she was born without an immune system. She had to have several bone marrow transplants and her dad donated the bone marrow. They tried about 7 times before the bone marrow transplant succeeded. She's doing great now.

Thats not a very nice thing to say. We have a whole Deaf Community in Madison, WI! How are they being punished?
Canadian's arent bad people either.
 
Hubby and I are hearing, and we're not from WI, but we did live there for a while. We lived in Sturgeon Bay, in a log cabin on a logging trail in the woods. It was beautiful there, and we enjoyed our months there. I did my Naval Reserve drills in Green Bay.

Ah, that's in Door County. I've been to Door County so many times I've lost count. It is a beautiful section of Wisconsin and many artists live in that area. Sturgeon Bay is a great town. Have you been to Sister Bay? I have a friend who lives there and owns her own business making really beautiful metal art. Sometimes another friend and I drive up to the very northern tip of Door County and back just to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Michigan. One time we spent the weekend at a very posh resort together on the beach near Sister Bay. I can't recall exactly what town the resort was in, I'd have to ask my friend about that. It was in the spring of 2000. It was a lot of fun. Our suite had a hot tub and we enjoyed that very much. I've also gone camping in Door County several times as well, it is a great place to camp. One day I will come back to visit and I will go to Door County again.

Yes, Door County was beautiful. We went for lots of long bike rides there. Annual Cherry Festival was fun, with lots of goodies to eat. We actually lived at Egg Harbor but not so many people know Egg Harbor as they do Sturgeon Bay. :giggle:
 
WI was cool state in past but their political system is fucked up and full of corruption.

I feel bad for gay men who suffer from plenty of anti-gay politicians in state legislative.
 
Wisconsin has some kickass (and fucked) politics. It's still pretty progressive.

Yup, at least, WI isn't worse as Alabama and Mississippi do, I'm absolutely hate their political system in both of these states and liberal voters are died, unless they are in big cities, usually limited to local since WI is heavily competition and a lot of liberal voters over statewide.
 
Madison is great....Milwaukee in particular has a insidious history of segregation and is still very segregated.
Though Madison and Milw. are the regions of progressive-ness - the rest - very conservative. I mean "night and day" <stark> difference. The majority of liberal voters are heavily concentrated in the two major cities mentioned above.

I agree that the politics and policies by Walker and the like are really fucked up:mad:
