Yes, Savannah is a beautiful city with good weather just like Houston is sunny and warm year round, in the summertime very hot and humid but stay cool drinking alots of water and going swimming alots. :) :thumb:

Hurricane Hugo. Ppl were out of power, water and gas for a long time of period. It was in either 1990 or 1992. I cant remember. I was young. I try to forget it because it was a very emotional time because my family were out of power, water and gas.

I agree that Savannah is a beautiful city/town...

Geez, sometimes I got confused
about Savannah being in GA or SC because it's very
close to SC line. I try NOT to worry about hurricanes
but it's difficult for me to watch weather channel on TV
during driving/traveling... I wish they have both
TV/Radio with captions in my car so that way I can at least
read and keep up with the current/future weather channel
in my own car for safety reasons.

I cannot even remember the name of powerful hurricane
that hit Savannah a few years ago anyway.... I assume
probably Hugo Right ?

I tried to find which name of these small towns in Savannah
that already had been hit before... no luck....

Yes, I am sure it was a real rough time. I am sure your family is now much more prepared with 1st aid, flashlight, warm blankets and everything after going through that experience. Emergency preparedness always helps alots. God Bless....

Hugo hit South Carolina in 1989. I remember because I lived near Charleston during Hugo, and we survived it.

I don't know about any hurricanes making a direct hit on Savannah since Hurricane Gracie hit Savannah in 1959.
