Anyone from New Orleans?

I'm trying to meet people that live in New Orleans or in surrounding areas cuz I'm planning on going to Mardi Gras next year. Would lIke to get more info on what to do there, best place to stay at, best restaurants to go to, etc. Maybe meet with a deaf group, make new friends, and hang out?

The following link gets you to a Deaf Baptist Church in New Orleans that meets once a week for free ASL lessons. I keep saying I'm gonna check them out, but I haven't gone yet because it is about an hour and a half away from me. If you don't trust my link, just go to FB and search for CANAL BOULEVARD DEAF BAPTIST CHURCH. My guess is you'll find what you're looking for.
