Hi. Right now I have Blackberry 7290 and my pager is okay for instant messenging communication and IP-Relay.

What I really love, since I'm attracted to Windows XP, is Windows Mobile 5.0, a new version of Windows Mobile and Windows Mobile 2003 is the previous version of Windows Mobile 5.0.

So for those who have any devices like Palm Treo 700w or Motorola Q (please do a search if you don't know what it is) or planning to get one, are you a fan of Windows Mobile? I don't want to see any kind of comments or questions like "Why Windows Mobile" or "Windows Mobile sucks. It's not because of virus since I don't get into habit of opening attachments or visit unknown, untrusted websites including phishing sites, and if I get any spoofed e-mail, I check for headers to make sure it's only from a trusted source like banks and if it isn't, I'd report the spoofed e-mail, along with e-mail headers, to trusted sources like PayPal and eBay where they can report it to agencies and get it traced to the source who sent spoofed e-mail message who pretends to come from any companies like eBay or PayPal.

What Windows Mobile got attracted to me is since I have Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition (remember: do a search!), I can develop a program and deploy it to Pocket PC/SmartPhone like Palm Treo 700w.

Now... because I can only sign up for a PDA from Verizon Wireless, here's my question. Would you pay $50 a month for Internet Service from Verizon?

I don't need a voice plan since that's $80 a month total and I can't afford that but I think that's for business but I don't think I view Palm Treo 700w as a mobile business tool because I think it can be also for consumers, too! Even those who are deaf or hard of hearing can use Palm Treo 700w if they're a fan of Windows Mobile. For me, I'd rather spend about $40-$50 a month but the old-saying is "you get what you pay for" (heh heh heh) and well, it's alright. I can pay $50 a month but I'd feel better if it's between $30 to $40 a month and my point about that is, every dollar counts.

As soon as my 1-year contract with T-Mobile's up, I'd get myself a Palm Treo, but I will wait to see what other manufacturers have to offer...maybe for those who are deaf and wanted a Windows Mobile device like me.

Im starting to dislike windows based PDA... Why? If I want to add AIM on it, I have to pay for software, WTF??? To help M$ making more money than they needed? I don't think so!

Too late...my thread got ruined and turned my thread into those who blame/bash Microsoft...

I wanted to have a good debate about Windows Mobile devices, but oh well...

Hey if you do serious research on how M$ practices their business. You will have your jaws dropped. M$ is the greediest corporation known in history.

Suppose you create a program and became so popular, M$ would try to buy your program at dirty deal, and if you refused, they would write their OS to make your program not working right with them UNTIL you finally made deal with them. Did it happen? You BETCHA!!! Alot of software went out of business because of M$'s dirty practices. The only company that M$ failed to do with is Intuit. Intuit happen to have excellent lawyer and got deep pocket. So M$ backed off.

GraysonPeddie, If were you, I would stay far away from VerizonWireless - they are rather deaf-unfriendly and pretty expensive when it comes comparing to Cingular, Sprint-Nextel and V-Stream/T-Mobile.

If you have telephone services through BellSouth, you probably could get Cingular products cheaper than what you get from Cingular itself. Try BellSouth's Special Needs unit - I do not know if they still sell/lease deaf-friendly pagers/mobile phones now. Cingular is owned jointly by BellSouth and AT&T/SBC. I don't have services through BellSouth anymore.

I wouldn't mind Verizon... know why? They got DAMN best coverage! With Verizon I can go almost anywhere!!! Sprint, only if I am willing to pay roaming charges, and who do you think Sprint uses for me to roam around? OFC, its Verizon! That is why Verizon is very expensive... Its all about coverage. Tmobile seems to have coverage being shrink. Im not happy with that.
Same goes to Cingular, the worst and to prove this Cingular now is in legal trouble for cut off some coverage in order to force customer to pay upgrades!

Finally none of wireless providers are as honest as we all wanted them to be.

Anyway, once I have good job and good income, I'd gone for Verizonwireless.

As far as I look into BellSouth's Special Needs website, they don't. Maybe it's hidden behind some web pages, but I didn't see it.

And thanks for letting me know about Verizon. I don't know why they're deaf-unfriendly, but I like Palm Treo 700w. I've looked at Motorola Q, which is a SmartPhone, but it doesn't have Pocket Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I know there's other third-party programs available but I prefer Pocket Office applications by Microsoft. :)

I've had good experiences with the PPC-6700 from Sprint, which is a WM 5.0 device. 3 people I know have it and use it extensively, enough that I want it for myself to enjoy all the features of the powerful PPC-6700. Otherwise, I don't know enough about the OS to really comment on it for the Treo 700W or Motorola Q. I'm interested in seeing the Windows Mobile technology take off.

When my contract with T-Mobile expires before July, I will be researching new Windows Mobile devices available around June/July 2007. I'm hoping to get a laptop-style Windows Mobile PPC/SmartPhone with QWERTY keyboard and large screen, with a directional arrow key below the spacebar, along with other keys like calender, Start, OK/Close button, and Contacts. I saw T-Mobile's MDA IV in the Internet with a foldable screen but I'd have to wait to see what other manufacturers have to offer in 2007.

I already play with Q. I don't like that anymore. It's looks pretty slow and very tiny screen when you use camera. Not 100% fit in LCD screen. Most like 75%.

I have Treo 650 which it really old since 2004 and it still faster and better than Sk2 and any M$ mobile that I test so far.

Treo650 is better than Treo700w.

I use Treo650 under T-mobile. Cheap plan. :)

Well OK...

I'm only discussing about the devices with Windows Mobile. I wasn't attracted to PalmOS or Blackberry because it made me feel like I'm running non-"Microsoft Windows" like Linux.

When Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 got released on November 7, 2005, I really got attracted to Windows SmartPhone/PPC development and the ability to write either in C# and Visual Basic.net and deploying it to Windows Mobile 2003/5.0 devices.

About Windows Mobile 5.0, I really like the looks of the user interface. Plus, if I have a job at a workplace where there's Microsoft Live Communicator Server, Microsoft Exchange 2003 (or better yet, 2007 when it ships next year), etc. it'll be great for me, as for keeping in touch with co-workers when I'm not in a workplace, like eating lunch, for example. I like Windows Mobile much better than Blackberry or PalmOS.

I use Verichat. I can send pix, files, video to someone thru AIM, MSN, YIM and other. Sounds so cool!

More info.

Me stupid? I think you should do more research on how M$ do business practices with other vendors. You will vomit for sure

Whats more, majority of deafies I chat with uses AIM not MSN! So, MSN is almost useless tome.

Right, but don't you know that AOL have to PAY to M$ to get AIM working with their OS? Now there is no AIM for windows mobile 5.0! I have digged and I think AIM quit distribute them! So this leaves only Verichat, meaning coughing up your money. It is way to make M$ even greedier richer.

Please re-read what I said. You must misunderstand. I said M$ do not made AIM software. ONLY AOL made AIM.
