Any Hot Rodders?

I'll try to get on to check out your picture tomorrow! No promises as I am pretty busy these days with the new job. Plus when I am home i spend a lot of my time with my dog since she is kept in the crate while I am at work. She prefer the crate over having the run of the house, odd huh?

I understand about work and the dogs.

How is your Camaro going?

Hubby wants to get one and restore one of those. It is his dream car.

The Mustang. He did everything himself except for the paint job. :giggle:

He had to take it to a friends shop to do that.

Overall. I will defiantly post pictures.

Camaro is at a stand still for right now, cause I am doing the responsible citizen thing and paying off my student loans. Plus putting money up to get a place with a nice garage, or some acres to build my own place. I might get to work on it some by next year.

Know the feeling.

Restoring cars is not cheap.

Hubby wants to do a Camaro. Since it is costly and we are as well, in a bind.

Once we sell the Mustang. Then perhaps. :dunno:

$$ is an issue for us also.

Well I have a 1980 el camino with a rebuilt 350 and rebuilt autotranny in it with chrome outlaw rims its a nice project that im working on....

The 350 came out of I believe a camaro with racing camshaft and the heads has been worked on so its a little faster than stock but ill be planning on boring out the cylinders maybe .30 or .40 over depending on which pistons I can get a good deal on

Im not a big fan of drag races I mean the faster you go the faster the race's over

Any luck on the Pictures Babyblue?

The Deaf Guy, I like the adrenaline rush from a 8 sec quarter mile pass.

After I finish this car and get my truck rebuilt, I will be building a all out race car. shooting for 8-7sec in a quarter mile.

7-8 second ride that's gunna cost you some serious money which way are you gunna go? Nitro.... super charger with a blower on it? Which motor are you looking at to do this project?

The only thing im really interested in when it comes to those drag races is the wheel standing competition now that's what I would love my car being able to do that nothing says raw horsepower more than being able to lift your front end up in the air with your foot mashed to the pedal heck yeah!

I haven't narrowed it down, but I will be running twin turbos.

leaning toward a 500's cubic in motor with twin turbo. Suspension will of course have to be aftermarket, and will be running a fiberglass body for the weight.

Twin turbos do you build your own motor or has a pit crew that helps you out?

Hey blue that's a nice car too bad its a ford (go chevy!)

I am building a 79 camaro from the ground up. It's still in the building stage but slowly it will be finished when I am done with college and making some money!

Here are some pics of it,

Temp dash til I am done testing it at the track. After it pass the track test I will be working on the interior and body.

It's dirty but i rebuilt the suspension and painted it black. The rearend has 4.10 posi gears in it.

350 with aftermarket internal, along with afew upgrades.

Hoping for 12 sec with stock converter, 11 sec with aftermarket converter.

here is a video of it running,

Either way, this has been a on going project for the past 10 yrs, but with college, a little money and a little time I have rebuilt the front suspension, rebuild the rear suspension and rearend. Built the motor and getting it legal to run at a NHRA quarter mile track.

So who else hot rods and what is it?
hey, I like ur Camaro pics, pardon me what car in background? is it a Ford Sedan? My 3 old vehicles is '63 chevy nova wagon (still undergoing works),
71 alfa romero gtv, and 75 chevy truck c20 (bad cancerous body). sorry I dont know how to put a ton of Nova pics into computer. i dunno.

Well, I had a 1964 Yellow Mustang, V6....and I raced it at the strip and won a trophy!...Reason was: no one else was in my class...and that was a long time ago, (North Carolina)....That Mustang could run! I've always loved racing, and when I was young, my ex-hubby raced all the time

V6 in a 64 Mustang? I never race at any tracks cuz I'm chick. heehee

Guess what?

My wife and I bought a 2008 Mustang v6 Deluxe almost two weeks ago and love it right away! Sorry, it ain't a hot rod car. lol

My wife once owned a 1988 Boss Mustang and had it for some 8 years and sold it. By a coincidence it's 20 years we then bought another Mustang but didn't realized it till after we brought the car on our way home other day. Cool

Yes, 1964 Mustang is the first model but had no idea it had a v6 also! Interesting! (it's my birth year, too!) This year is the 45th anniversary for the Mustangs.

I actually prefer a v8 GT but it costs more yet we almost could afford but decide not to this time so we took a v6 since it's powerful enough for us, really. Someday I might trade it for that if it comes to our opportunity, maybe. Dream on! lol

Kudos to our own American muscle car, Ford Mustang! :D

I'm a "chick" too and not a "chicken"! Only deafie there at the strip and a female....During those wild years, I had a "heavy foot"...and lots of speeding tickets to show for it....Now, I've mellowed....drive a Lincoln Continental!...HAHA....but would give it up in a second for a Hummer or a Corvette!...But that yellow Mustang remains in my heart! Wish I had of never sold it.

i am lusting after a 1999 or 2001 Toyota Altezza and dip in a Supra 3 Litre straight Six twin turbo in that, it could make 1,000 HP but that would be impractial and hard to drive, so maybe a 500HP would be ok, does that make it a hotrod? (now consider this, hot rod, refers to the HOT con-rods! whats where the name came from), oh if 'nah this is jap crap then how about a 1934 Ford Roadster with say chev 383 ? thats a 350 with a 400 crank, pretty mean stroker.. : :)

Take your friends with you in a 4 door Supra (giggle) and floor it with 1000 horsepower to the rear wheels...oh wait it would be probably 950 rwhp. ;)

I wish to join your Lincoln Continential to show me to the beach. Dont give up on Hummer, give up on Vette.

That nice car.

I would scrap that rear axle and use Ford 9 why they are tough and dragster use ford 9.

I would suggested not use fram for oil filter why I have bad experience with that and destroy my engine due cardboard in fram.

How fast you think it go? what hp and torque spec

at my last job we tested fuel filters. Fram was the worse. nothing but junk inside.
