 Hello guys, thought I'll try here to see if anyone can tell me how do these young ladies get our unlisted vp numbers to solitate their XXX activities through vp and what's more, when they called, there is no way to trace their calls back through "missing calls". How do they do that? I usually ignored their calls until one time, this one persuasive teen kept calling me over and over so finally I lost my cool and answered the call...I found her sitting on sofa (fully clothed, whew). Before I could asked her how she got my number, she quickly hung up. where did she and many others get our unlisted phone numbers, does anyone know?

Peeved and fed up in Seattle

That would be annoying, I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I wonder if a company that has your number might have sold your number because I know some phone companies do sell the numbers and things like that. I wonder if that might be what has happened. Try calling the VP customer service and see if there is any way they can stop them from calling or anything like that.

I am in the Seattle area by the way.

Glad to hear from you who is from Seattle too. smiles. thanks for the suggestion to contact VP customer services if they have sold my number to certain group of people who has access to solitate people. I was surprised to find a deaf teen on the other end...where and how she got my number? Im sure she was equally surprised to see this attractive deaf lady who answered her call. lol I noticed those who solicate their bedroom activities usually have suggestive XXX titles displayed on vp screen when they called me via vp. It was a good thing they use these titles so I 'll know immediately not to answer any of their calls. I would like to hear from others who may have experienced this.

Atleast you have that. I actually am in Kent but like i said it is the Seattle area. I am just happy to be talking to someone in the area. Everyone I have talked to live in another state or a looooooooooooooong loooooooooooong way from here. I am not Deaf myself but I am an ASL student and I eventually want to become an ASL interpreter.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I am sorry that you have difficult trying not to have your identity(phone number) stolen from you. That suck big time and ouch that's hurt. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading and posting all the threads here. Have fun with us. See you around.

Videophone itself is based on IP address not Videophone number and it is almost impossible to trace back. It is very unlikely that your VP number is sold.

How does this work, whoever would just spoofing and locate which IP address uses video protocol, once found bam! Call you and left you with mysteious calls.

It works just pretty much same way with computers, hackers just spoofing for any available IP address to hack in your computers, leaving you victim without trace.

I never knew that. I am new to the whole thing, that would make some sence. I wonder if there is something that can be done about it.
