Wow is really the first thing that poped in my head, then Extream anger hit me. I mean this is beyond sick and guess what he's going to get a small fine and a slap on the wrist. Since animal cruelty cases are not really in the law books as being a heavy crime. It's a misdemeanor in my state. lawmakers really need to beef up these law protecting the animals. I have two rescued dogs one is a American stafford shire and the other is a fawn Doberman.
I rescued both as puppies Aderana my stafford was tied with a 3 foot chain to a fence in the middle of winter. She was skin and bones it gets worse but you get the idea. I paid for all her vet bills to be saved and I now own her. I'll post a picture of them both. My Doberman was rescued from a crack dealers house during a raid. I have them both. But it's pretty sad anyone can harm a animal in such a way these people did. It breaks my heart being the animal lover I am. Thanks for sharing this story.

There needs to be severe laws against this and serious jail time for people who commit these acts. As the law stands now it's community service, maybe, and a slap on the wrist. I find it disgusting. It speaks to the lowest form of humanity when we can't treat animals, much less our fellow human beings, with compassion.

Today at work I took a quick walk and I was behind this black guy with a Reggae get up and a cute little girl - maybe his daughter, who was about five or six. I noticed there were sparrows near her and she was trying to stomp them. The guy said nothing. I had chin reduction surgery the 28th last month and I still talk like I had a stroke so I couldn't say anything. I wish I did. My coworker said "maybe she's mimicking what she learned at home." It worries me what she'll mimic when she's an adult. I would never have stood idly by while my child tried to kill an animal, and I truly wonder what the Hell was wrong with that guy that he didn't say something to her. It makes me think of something by Mark Twain, "the more I get to know people, the more I love my dog." Sick.....

Here's a great story, and I really love that it's a pit bull given how these poor dogs receive so much negative press:

Pit bull honored as a hero after saving master

A pit bull from Lawrenceville, Ga., is being celebrated as a hero after he saved his master's wife--not once, but twice.

John Benton was headed out to work one day in July 2011 when the 6-year-old dog, Titan, started behaving strangely.

"He was barking and growling and then ran down the steps and got between me and the door," Benton told Fox5 in Atlanta. Benton turned around and went upstairs. There he found his wife, Gloria, had a brain aneurysm, and had fallen and suffered what turned out to be a skull fracture.

"The doctors said that if it had not been for this dog, if he had let me leave that house, she would have either bled to death or the aneurysm would have killed her," Benton told the TV station.

And just eight weeks ago, Titan again came to the rescue of Gloria Benton, the station reported. Early one morning, Titan woke John Benton, who discovered his wife had fallen and broken her hip.

For his heroics, the Humane Society of the United States honored Titan as its second runner up for the fifth annual Dogs of Valor Awards.

Gloria Benton, who hadn't been so keen on having a pit bull in her house, has grown quite fond of Titan.

"He is so special," she told the TV station. "And you just can't give him enough love. He loves to be loved on."

I'm a gentle person, but when I read things like this it stirs a violence in me that wants to do damage to people who abuse animals. I'm almost finished with my degree in Animal Science and then I'll be going to veterinary school. I'm going to devote my life to helping animals. omg I'm so upset and angry now.

It angers me also to see someone abusing an animal....and I don't hesitate to speak up, even yell at them. And have offered at times to take the animal (it was a puppy) myself.

Well, I do believe in Karma...and those who abuse animals needesly, will somehow pay for it in the long run.

That's horrible! Poor cat. And poor puppies too. I love animals more than I love people.

Give me a break..very little kids do those things..they like to chase birds and other animals. I know I did..Wow, just ridiculous.

Know what got me so furious? Buddy of mine on facebook posted a pic of a guy on motorcycle draggin a dog with rope...tore his leg up..could see bones. happened in china I think.. I'd kill the guy without second thoughts..blow his fuckin brains out right there if I was there with a gun. My criminal record is crystal clear, mind ya.
