Hi everyone!
I'm Starr and I am slowly losing my hearing but the doctors still have no clue why, even 8 years after the initial onset.
Anyway, I stumbled across here and was looking to make new friends! Most of my friends are hearing and it's difficult to get them to understand why I don't follow their conversations well anymore and the phrase "I can't hear you if you aren't looking at me" makes no sense to them. I've taught myself to read lips to a fairly accurate degree but it doesn't always help. I'm still trying to learn ASL and I'm fairly decent at it.
I've been wearing hearing aids for a few months now. Still not used to them. They help but things are still weird sounding. (Although I did re-discover that bags of chips make a sound when I open them!)
