An Australian Returns!

Haha, Kangy re: that phrase. Ummm, I don't think it's origin is much over 50 years old and I don't know the details of said origin but I believe it's from the opera. Most operatic singers have rather large chests (lungs) due to the nature of what they do; hence the operatic ladies who are, err, ummm, rather large in that anatomical region; thus the phrase.

It means to comfort people who are in the midst of a seemingly lost cause...that is to say that the ordeal isn't over yet....like in the case of your vineyard & the drought. It will eventually rain and I know it isn't as simple as that because, as you know full well, there's fungus and probably a lotta other things to worry about in the interim. Ahh, but I digress, Milady.

So there you have it; it's a reference to anything, be it a ball game, etc; it's the FINAL result that matters. So hang in there!!

Hello Kangaroo welcome back

I think I recall your username in the past.

It would be great if you invite some Indian people to come to your country, and they would smoke up the sky or sing to convince the weather to rain in your area. I hope that your vineyard will survive somehow this year.

WB Harley! Thanks for the welcome, yes I do remmy you in other forums too. Hope all is well with your family. We still have our Harley though sadly it tends to gather cobwebs in the shed and we may be selling it soon.

Northstar, fancy seeing you in here! Sure you aint following me?? ;) Are you after my Harley eh???

Oceanblue, thanks, I like your screen name. Its very refreshing and peaceful.

Tousi, ah Tousi where would we be without you! I think I hear someone singing though... as guess what, its raining as I type this! Whooo hooo! We have already had the biggest April rainfall sinc 1997 in the last 48 hours!!
Thanks for the explaination Tousi. One wonders how these strange sayings come about.

Web explorer, thanks for the welcome, and yes thats me from other forums. I always use the screen name Kangaroo wherever I am on the net. Always have, always will. I think the Indians must be lurking in the bushes (my "dried arrangements") outside for it's raining. Oh! the fragrances of the wet eucalyptus (gum trees), its just divine! I'm getting high on gum leaves! hehe.

Phillips, thanks for your good wishes, nice to meet you!!

Thanks all,
Kangaroo
