Amusement Parks

Is anybody here afraid of amusement parks, because of all the news stories we’ve been hearing lately about people flying off the rides and getting killed?

I think it should teach as a lesson to make us aware that WE are responsiblity for OUR own safety. Do not just put a blind trust on the attendants to do stuff for you. Make sure that you are strapped in correctly or whatever. If you sense that you are not strapped in right, you have the right to alert the attendant before the ride starts. Also, do not be silly and unfasten seat belts during the ride. Most of the time these accidents happen is due to human error.

For example, the well known ride called Enterprise on Morey's Pier was closed because someone fell out of it. Found out later that the guy unfastened the gate and that was a foolish move. Now they have all the gates double-fastened just because of someone's stupidity.

You got that one right. When I get on those things, I check those restraints 12 different ways from Sunday. And if that lap bar were to come up before the ride started, I wouldn’t try to push it back down—I’d be flying out of that car and yelling at the attendant to stop the ride.

I love all kinds of amusement parks. I can go on any rides (only if I am in the right mood and healthy enough). I have gone to Six Flags several times, (CO, MO, ILL, CA, FL) and few other small amusement parks. :thumb:

When my boys are in their teens, I'll take them to an amusement park in CO and have them ride all rides with or without me. :thumb:

I love rollercoasters. Last year my parents and I went to Hershey for a conference and us older kids (teens and twenty somethings) went to the park for the day, and I was the last one out of the park b/c I wanted to ride all the cool rollercoasters!
I love Riverside (now Six Flags New England) and there was a park in RI which closed when I was in high school called Rocky Point...kind of lame-ass but they did have an awesome freefall! There was a park called Lincoln Park in Dartmouth, that closed when I was in second grade ('87) Canobie Lake was fun but it's too tiny. It does have an awesome rollwercoaster thou (Yankee Cannonball) Went to Coney Island a few years ago and got to ride the famous rollercoaster! I've been to Six Flags Great Adventure and that RAWKED!!! The Great American Scream Machine is the coolest upside down rollercoaster ever!....last time I was there,I'd just gone back to BTEs from ITEs and forgot about BTE's tendancies to fall out....:)

I LOVE amusement parks and roller coasters, especially scary ass ones. Six Flags is awesome, but the lines are a pain in the butt! You wait 2 hours for a 45-second ride sometimes, and it makes me wonder if the wait is worth it. My idea - go to Six Flags when the weather man predicts light rain...then when it starts raining, head for the bigger attractions so that the lines are shorter. Hey, if you're lucky, you might get to ride three or four times before people catch on! ;)

OK, Malf..This is where you and I part company! If there is ONE THING that scares me right out of my mind, it's a stinkin' roller coaster! There is NO WAY on Earth you'd EVER get me on one! There's not enough vodka on the PLANET that could get me drunk enough for it, either! lololol

My family & I are the fan of amusement park :)

We travel to different amusement parks in Europe twice a year.

We´ll go to Disneyland Park in Paris again end of August for 4 days with my friends & their family. We went there last year & must say that Disneyland Park is the best park of all.

We want to go USA Disneyland & Worldsea but I know we MUST go there!!!

There's two of them in USA, Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Disneyworld in Orlando, FL. I haven't been to Disneyland but I've gone to Disneyworld many times and I think it's bigger than Disneyland. :) If you do go there, you'll have tons of fun, I can guarantee that. =)

Liebling probably meant SeaWorld, one in San Diego, Ca, one in Orlando, Fl and others as well. ;)

I grew up loving the fastest and biggest rollercoasters at any major amusement parks! :D My favourite places are at 6 Flags Great America and Magic Mountain in Ventura, California.
Great America's in Santa Clara, CA. I remember one summer -- in the early 1990's -- I had bought a season pass and went nuts that summer by going to Great America for 4 straight days! Drove there and back home each day!
