This not going to happen on alldeaf ! It's a very nice thought but as long Trump keep dividing the country things will only get worst !
Trump isn't a member of AD, so we can go on without him.

. . . I have neighbors that voted for Trump and we still talk to one another.
We can do that at AD, too. :)

Go along with me, folks :grouphug:
Let's allow only POSITIVES

Trump is only a human being, he was elected by people and can be removed by people.
Trump may say what he thinks but he can not made up our minds.
We don't have to listen to everything what Trump says, let alone do it.

BTW, please do not use color font. Some people cannot read color font. Want to keep things positive, be considerate of others.
(if you hung around AD often enough you would know this - just like you would know what a spiteful person WDYS is)

I believe it will if we stop saying negative things. But in order for this to happen you too, must stop saying negative things.
You see, everyone must start with oneself to see any change. If you wait for others, this may never happen indeed.
So, let's start with "I".

I believe it will happen on All Deaf. I believe we can appreciate each other.
I appreciate the differences between us on AD. I appreciate that we differ in our beliefs, in our ethnicity.
I believe we can be united in that on AD.

Ain't going to happen. Don't be surprised if you get put on her ignore list for saying that.

Those who can't, can't and I am sorry they can not, truly.
But those who do - will do. It would be inconsiderate and limiting of those who can not read the color font to expect everybody
will stop using colors. just because you are deaf do you want others to stop listening to music? that's very selfish.

So, you would not take offense (offence) if someone could not read the word in pink and thought you might have said

Well, she has every right to put me on her ignore list if she wants too.
I hope she won't do that, though.

Why would I? The color doesn't really matter. The sense and the message of the word does. It says the same whether in black or pink.
Not only you are completely missing the point of my message, you are nitpicking and looking for a fight. Shame on you.

Shame on you to not care if people can read your post. You want everyone to get along, but you decide having pretty pink text is more important than including everyone in on the conversations.

Please decide which is which - they can't read my post, or they can't see pink from black, or they can't read pink text at all.
Your posts are very confusing.

You know what she means...it's been a long time that some members do have vision problems and asked "politely" to not type in colors...and we all followed suite...What makes you so special that you can't understand that? Even I have low vision...some members color-blind...list goes on and on.

they can't read my post-- yes-- some of us are blinded by the PINK
they can't see pink from black- Yes some likely can't
they can't read pink text at all- it can happen.

The point is... it's better to have a uniform font color. I get that some people loooove to use other colors to make an emphasis on something but that's what the bold is for. It's only common courtesy really to not bother using color font in a community that includes deaf-blind individuals.

Technically on this blinding white forum, that awful pink is... okayish to see but not super great (it was worse on the old forum). Cyan is horrible as is yellow. Too many colors is also very distracting for a low vision person (especially for me on days when my eyes decide to be a pain in the ass).

No, what is amazing how you guys don't care about anything but bickering and squabbling.

This thread is about problems and divide USA is experiencing under Trump.
I tried to send POSITIVE message, message of HOPE and UNITY.
Trust some of you to turn this into shit, like everything else.

@Audiofuzzy I have gotten the same comment in the past on the colors and took it as a learning point.

Because honestly I didnt realize the impact.

Why do you want to bicker about this.

And while you preach unity, you have not acted upon it yourself, yet expect others to do so?

Giving the good example, you could compromise and take these comments to heart

I would, if the request was explained politely and without ugly gossip.
But it wasn't, I clearly was ordered. So I took offence.

OK, let's see here, you're ordering people to go along with you and to allow only positives without a please or would you mind... And yet you're getting offended by an order from a member, the very same gist of what you're doing.

So Fuzzy, how does this simple request offend you? She kindly asked you with "Please".

It almost was, except I didn't like her nasty remark about WDYS - what's THAT got to do with color blind?? explain that please.

Sure, when you explained it like that I understand completely and apologize (and thank you for staying on subject only).
Sure I will try to remember that and stay away from colors.
However, my forum background is gray, not white. maybe that's why my pink lettering is not so "blinding" here.
My explanation behind my choice of color is I wanted the word to not only sound but appear uplifting. but okay, whatever.
Thank you for nice explanation.
