I would like to share a story of my friend told me about allergic cockroach.

Her friend’s friend move to Florida from Alaska for new jobs. Parent and their three sons were so happy rent nice small home. The parent took their last baby son to Hospital because he was so sick. He had hard time to breaths and some red spots on his body. Doctor gave him a medication. Then went back to home. Few days, the boy getting worse sick. They called 911 and went to the emergency hospital. They suggest them to another doctor with make an appointment in a week later. They return to home. The boy’s mother couldn’t have slept well so Decide walked to his bedroom and peeking into the dark room. She noticed something black tiny spots movement on the boy’s blanket. She turned the light on and sudden to see cockroaches run escape to hide from his bed. She became to freak out and yelled her husband’s name. They see the boy does hard time breath again and took him to the hospital again. They explain to doctor what mother saw cockroaches in their rent house. Doctor said Ah! Now obviously that He is allergic to cockroaches! The Parent talked to owner of a rent house. They agreed to give them fully money back because They were signed on one year lease. Now they re happy live different no pest rent house!

I told my friend, What!!!! Cockroach can cause allergic??? She said Yes. :ugh3:

Hey Phillips it is true that many people, especially those with asthma, can be allergic to the allergens that cockroches carry around. Skin rash can happen to along with the difficulty breathing. If there is a question whether or not it is the cockroaches causing the reaction> ask a doctor if they did a blood test called IgE. :)

well phillip not so surprising as i am allergic to mosquito bites as well.

Interesting!!! Honestly I am allergies to bee, and any bugs. I get sick very easily. Scary!!:Ohno:

poor baby. glad the mother knows why the baby isnt feeling good. now she ll make sure to keep cockroachs out for her baby.

its interesting. I didnt think of this cochroach can be allergic to people.

Cockroaches?! Yikes! Those nasty little creatures I despised. *shudderin'* I don't like spiders around here in Florida -- eww! Spiders sneaked in my bedroom TWICE since I moved in here last July 2008. You bet, I screamed my head off when I see spiders. They are soo gross I've ever seen! My fiance killed them for me.

Poor baby who suffered allergic to cockroaches. I am glad a woman found the answer what caused the baby sick.

I used to live in a house infested with those despicable little demons with my sister and her daughter. The landlord wouldn't do anything about them no matter how much we complained. Kinda scary that they can cause an allergic reaction especially in asthmatic since my niece is severly asthmatic.

hohDougRN is right. I learned it from medical school in the past.

I am allergic to dust mites, according to a board certified Allergist-Immunologist. It did happen to me when I was staying overnight at my old friend's apartment. The next day, I got itched and itched all over my body, which was uncomfortable and I went home taking a shower, still itching.. and I had to stop by at the drug store to buy some OTC medications to treat for my itches. I was using the medications for a week, which did not help me. I called for an appointment with my PCP and they said my PCP's on vacation and if I want to see the Nurse Practitioner, which I did. She examined me and said that I am allergic to dust mites, not fleas as I thought. She prescribed me the medications, which did help me in three days. It turned out that my old friend's apartment was very filthy and dirty. I bluntly told her that she must clean up in her apartment. She said none of your business. In two days later, the landlord called me to say that my friend's apartment needs to clean or they will evict her because of the neighbors' complaints. I had to call and let my friend know that her landlord called and said she was not happy with her because of her filthy apartment, etc. Again, she said to me none of my business, fine with me. So, I reported it to her hearing sister. She thanked me for reporting and she stopped by at her apartment and yelled at her sister for not cleaning up, clean up now, etc. My friend said to her sister, "don't tell me what to do?!" It's a long story in here but I found out that my friend is mental illness. She refused to seek a professional help. Oh, well...

Its true, I am one of them allergic to cockroaches. yuck! That is one of reasons why I avoid Florida, and southern states.

I can see why they had no idea because they are from Alaska, a real nice place and mostly cockroach free.. Cockroaches can't live in extremely cold climiate.
