Every time a member makes a post, that post is given a number. That number will remain the same... no matter what.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

That's 10 posts.

If I deleted posts #2, #6, and #9... the rest of the posts would still keep their numbers.

1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10

That's 7 posts.

However, the fact remains that post #10 was still the 10th post. There are 7 posts, but 10 posts were made.

That's how it is in this situation. The front page shows how many posts there currently are in AllDeaf. More posts were made, but less are visible.
 
Vampy, do you actually have access to the actual total posts including deleted threads and deleted posts?

So that means that the post have been deleted counts?

Yes. If members posts were deleted, their post count would decrease as well.

In order for the database to keep track of the posts, numbers are assigned.

Look at LEGOs for example. Each product is given a number. Ever notice how the number increases every time a new product is released? That's because those numbers are assigned as they are brought up within the company. Not all of them are approved, released to the public, or released in the United States. That's why we may see a lot when there are actually a lot more designs made for those sets.

You could say that... but that would also depend on the members. If members make off-topic posts, those posts will be deleted. So, if the front page post count doesn't increase much... blame it on those who didn't follow AllDeaf rules or respect other members. ;)

Now I understand what you are talking about. Including the deleted posts are counted to "million posts".
