I've noticed that some of you may have the wrong time zone set up on your computer. I thought I'd create this thread so that you can test it for your time zone in case you're having trouble setting it.

To change your time zone settings, click on User CP. Next, scroll down a bit and click on Edit Options. Finally, scroll down until you see "Date & Time Options". You'll see a box that has something like:

(GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada), Bogota, Lima

Since I live in Rochester, New York, I need to have mine set to this so that it fits my time zone.

Now, how do we test it? Go ahead and make one post. As soon as your post is made, immediately check to see the time displayed when you made your post. If it matches (or nearly matches) the time of your computer, then you're fine. If not, then you should go to settings and fix that. Hope this helps! :thumb:

Is it a required to do that for everyone or don't need to ??

It's not required. I just thought I'd make it easier. I've seen people say things about when their posts were made and it's actually wrong. What if AllDeaf were to have some kind of online competition. One person said something about a due date... and a member missed the deadline because the time zone was wrong.

Oh. Well, actually I am 5 hours apart from you. :) I've never thought about the time zone, really. I would just read everyone's posts and then respond to share my experience, opinions, and all that without payin' attention to the time zone. lol

But, anyways.. thanks for sharin' your thoughts for me to understand.

Note 1: Hmm... I guess I need to set a hour ahead. oops!

Note 2: Hmm.. I look at CP and find that my set is correct, I guess it didn't auto as saving-day.

Dang! No DST in Alldeaf's Time Zone. :|

 Heheheh...I often go by DST when I'm at parties and the sorts! But I've had my time settings all set up when I first signed up in here. ;)

Ta, Vampy for helping others who weren't aware of this configuration. :D

No problem. I had that same problem when I first came in AllDeaf.

As for DST, it's an annoyance around here at NTID. Sometimes, I will announce earlier party times since most people who show up tend to come late so technically, they are showing up at the time I originally planned the party to start. ;)

ah I fixed the time a while ago when DST came back butwhen fall time comes then will have to fix it when I go back to user cp ugh

I think AllDeaf already has that? I don't remember changing mine cuz of daylight savings. It's probably your computer or something. :dunno:
