Aim 6.0

I hated 6.0..I downloaded and installed 6.0 today, and it is 25 mb! Slowed down my computer, AIM would load very slow, etc. I hated it! So I uninstalled it and reinstalled 5.9 much better! Only 12 mb!

Your pc must be severely small-brained... 25 MB yet it slowed your pc?! it must be in real bad shape or too small memory. :ugh3:

Well, it depends on tech spec on PC and some of them aren't good.

Only problem that run AIM 6.0 is slower on Dell (Windows XP) since they got in 2001.

It need upgrade into new graphic card (PCI) to make program to run so well, also 128MB is good and 64MB is alright, I have 64MB right now.

I haven't tried AIM 6.0... But if you don't want all the junk add-ons from AOL, you can download AIM 5.9 and 6.0 with no add-ons: http://aftermath.dyndns.org:8888/~aimadhack - look very careful to select/dis-select your choices.

You can get tabbing for AIM 5x like you get on newer AIM: Freeezer

I have used AIMHack for years.

Anyway, use your anti-virus program before you download any.

I have my 6.0 AIM. :D I do like it. :D I hope it will be next 7.0 AIM soon. I don't know when? We find out. :D

I have a 80 gb hard drive but only 256 mb ram....and I often run a lot of programs at once (Firefox, AIM, Photoshop, etc) and the AIM 6.0 really slowed my pc down!!!

Then upgrade your ram to at least 1024 mb . Ram prices are not that expensive. I use 1024 mb and it makes me comfortable while using multiple programs.

As for topic,I dislike AIM.. preferring MSN recently.
