Sure, complain all you want, country girl. But consider this, try 11 FEET of snowfall during two weeks!
It sure happened here in Tug Hill area, that is in Upstate NY region. I live in Syracuse area.. that is about 20 minutes drive from downtown till Central Square. From Central Square till just near Watertown--That area is called Tug Hill area. Oswego, Redfield, Pulaski, Fulton, Parish, Tug Hill, and many other small towns got hit the hardest with LAKE EFFECT snow. That is, HEAVIER, WETTER, and MORE DENSE than what YOU got.
Midwest snow is very different than what we get. Sure, I get lake effect in Syracuse area. What we get every once in while though. But we got a lot of snow here though. Usually Syracuse is National Snowest City Champion. We are Champs of Winter 2005-06. Who knows for 2006-07!
Yeah, its already too much snow. I got feeling we might get more through out March AND early April! Late Spring this year and nice Summer. Hint, watch 12 days from Dec 26 and on. Each day represent each month. That is why we had 50 or 60 degrees in early January! Meaning HOT and NICE Summer!!
(singing, "Are you ready for Summer?") hee hee.. It is already for South like you are having, Texas!
Country, you said you are moving. Ah, to TEXAS! You are gonna miss the snowmobiling, sledding, and all! You will be back up there again. Just opinion.
Texas, if you like, you better come up here and see for yourself all the snow we got up north.
Northstar, we Upstate NYers are smart to shovel every hour or two hours when there are Lake Effect snow or any snow storms rolling through town. Why? It is easier to shovel and not much back breaking since it would be less snow shoveling each time you do that. If it is too much, you will give up BEFORE you can get your car out! True!
So my advice, ALWAYS keep shoveling and get a sno-broom. That is, a very large snow brush. It really works well than the smaller brush like thingy. It doesnt work for us in the Lake Effect region. The smaller brush are for mid-Atlantic states that does not get as much snow as we do.
Look when we had a storm over a week ago, I had to keep shoveling like 4 times in same day and 2 more next morning and I got my car out! It was easy compared to some who waited till last minute.
