But yeah, I can see why you'd rather text if you don't get the notifications, or if you didn't have a smart phone. I do ... a milestone 3 but the task killer thing kills the FB app and it don't work most of the time unless I go into it myself ... like I posted that pic earlier from my cell when I opened FB to do that I got the notification I had a message on there ...
 
I have FB because it's how people get in touch with me and send me invites to any events. It's the easiest and simplest way to do it.

I don't really understand when people whine about how FB can complicate their lives and such. It's really that simple..... don't involve or concern yourself in any drama or stop reading about any drama. and do not post up your personal info or pictures if you're paranoid about stalkers. you can just open up a FB account and put nothing in it. not that hard. treat FB as a "social" communication tool and nothing more.

there are some people who I prefer to limit it to FB only because I don't want to give them my cell #. at many social events.... I get some people asking me for my phone number and I kindly tell them to add me in FB instead. I also hate texting a lot thru phone.

and..... I still say "page me" instead of "text me". yea I'm just that old :roll:
 
I dropped facebook. I miss some people, but overall, it was more drama and stuff I don't really need. Sadly I now have to look for cat videos and enlargement pills on my own. :(
 
I get the annoyances with fb sometimes. I have some "friends" who post banal stuff like, "I went to the grocery store today", "I wonder if I'm a small or medium", etc.... and got tired of it.

However, I do want to stay in touch with them so thankfully facebook has a feature where you can unsubscribe from their newsfeed but you can still keep them as a friend.

It's a great tool IMO for keeping in touch with distant friends as well as an easy way to reach out to companies. The problem with some companies is that they get so many emails and phone calls it's almost impossible to get a reply but if you post a negative comment on their facebook page you'll most likely get a response.

bingo. you can just simply take a person off your news feed if you're annoyed by it. problem solved! no drama!
