My IP Relay - thumbs up
I use My IP Relay on AIM alot whenever I'm outside or somewhere using my sidekick2. On pc, sometimes I use it but do use other services like i711.
So far, my experience using MIPR service has been real good. I even own a MY IP Relay Number so I can use it specially for my business or non-business hearies to call me. Anytime while I'm mobile they can reach me.
Whenever I don't turn my aim on, they can always leave a message by call so IP Relay send me email with caller's message. So far it works great. It's like a free telephone number with message recorder.
I can call them either anytime, anywhere without paying a penny! Can't beat that, amen! (true enough the same thing with other relay services) But this one is quite unique and ideal for deaf sidekickers while in mobile especially.
I don't even use TDD anymore and only recieved crap calls (all by voices .. no use). So I disconnected BellSouth telephone service and that even saves me $40 mo./almost $500 a year, yeah! I don't even use TDD anymore and only recieved crap calls (all by voices .. no use) so thanks to MIPR! And I use the VP-100 with home phone numbers it still works even after the telephone disconnected. Amen!
Also on AIM MIPR that you can read others in BOLD while yours in light .. that makes it easier if you need to review your conservation or by others. That feature doesn't exist in the IP Relay (not in AIM) in the sidekick, ironically.
For you who experienced some difficulties, I think I know why. In most cases whenever you turn on AIM and MY IP Relay, you type 'call' once then put numbers who you want to call .. in case if there isn't any response .. best thing to do is type 'end call' then go back in and type 'call' then they would response. If you don't do it, it's a problem like stalling unless you clear it up and try again. That doesn't happen often though.
Once you understand better by practicing few times at least and take an advantage of getting your own MIPR Number, you sidekickers will love them, believe me!
