About closing threads..

We have to face sometimes and accept negatives and postive on both sides. I will never beleive if there´re positive on CI side all the time. I need negatives and positive on both sides.

I can't say I blame you, I'm just saying that *I* am going to stay out of the debates that turn into mud-slinging matches. Its not worth the stress.

Nah..just to help everyone forget and forgive. :) bring more positveness rather negativeness into this forum.

If I am wrong, Fuzzy, let me know.

Exactly, if not kept in mind, then its bound to repeat itself.

True..we can learn a lot from the negative issues on a subject but with better control.

This is like those Playboy magazines behind the counter.

If you don't like Playboy, don't buy it or read it... leave it alone.

If you see a debate topic that bothers you, leave it alone... ignore it.

If you think the topic is inappropriate, contact a moderator.

But This is OK...???

..Yeah, many thanks for your contributions that led to the closing fuzzy!

What is one person's view may not be another person's view--....

However, several have caused a thread to be closed--.

What has been mentioned before, time again and again, members are entitled to agree to disagree...let's stick to that, if one cannot, like VamPyroX stated: "..If you see a debate topic that bothers you, leave it alone... ignore it."

Is this a revealing of your true colors--that you indeed thrive on belittling others? If so....expect an action soon.

I am speechless - I was just KIDDING!! can't you see?
sheesh!

Welllll...I was somewhat clueless, anyone can kid around about something and yet, still be a 'part' of it...with an earlier remark/statement like that...go figure.

I was just joking, I would never encourage belittling and hurting and certainly not for FUN!
and let it be an example how easily one's intentions can be badly misinterpreted.

Fuzzy
ps Frankly, I am scared of joking here ever.

I am gonna make a suggestion here for everyone...if u are joking, maybe make sure it doesnt appear offensive or serious to others and add a "LOL" or "JK" at the end of your post? That way everyone can identify it as a joke or a silly comment? I admit I have forgotten to add that and some people took my posts seriously.

And, just so everyone is clear onthis....my statement was not intended to imply that fuzzy was the only one responsible for the thread being closed, but merely pointing out that she,as well as all of us, bear responsibility and therefore, has no right to be upset with the mods for the action taken.

I agreed!!!

I am not denying my involvement, but that is not why I was not so much upset as irritated to see the thread closed.
I was irritated because looks like some people who demanded thread closing weren't even participating in it. Even Tousi wrote "we are close, but not yet here".

Threads closed before people had a chance to succesfully resolve their differences will result in further flare ups.
Editing a thread is much wiser and better option.

You mean editing a post? That's what the moderator did, not only once but several times, how do I know? it's easy, you can see it at the bottom of the post, and whats more is that we were still going at each others and we didn't seem to obey the moderator's first post, so I can't say I blame him for closing that thread for awhile.....

Hmm personally I think the mods were right to close the thread and dare I say, they should have done it sooner. It had gone well past its use by date. Also, I think that people sometimes need a rest and a break so that they can calm down and reflect. It's so easy to get carried away on a fast paced, highly emotional thread and people say things that they shouldn't. I notice that you constantly say that your messages are misunderstood and I think that sometimes with fast moving threads, people either don't express themselves very well or people (who are upset) read things into messages that are not there. It's just the nature of the beast I am afraid.

Yes absolutely, that is so true
and that is why I personally think it's better to leave the thread open with just a minor corrections even if they become highly emotional.
My messages ARE misunderstood, sometimes severly. A lot is added into them what is NOT true.

Personally I think the problem is language barrier. Some people here like me and Cloggy have English as a second language. Some don't understand written English well and themselves use a mixture of written Eng and ASL, a bit hard to comprehend for someone like me. Some ASL only are hard to understood to even seasoned ASL signers themselves.

But what is the worst -constant derailing off topic while disputing something.
