LONDON (Reuters) -- Third-generation mobile phone services operated by Hong Kong conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa will include pictures and video clips from Playboy Enterprises, a spokesman for Hutchison's 3 UK said on Wednesday.
The deal represents the U.S. adult media firm's entry into third-generation mobile services, which use improved downloading technology to bring multimedia content to cell phones.
"Playboy has always been committed to making its content available through the use of emerging technologies and new platforms," Playboy Chief Executive Christie Hefner said.

However, for those subscribers who only read Playboy for the articles, there will be no access to written content.
Hutchison has set an ambitious first-year pan-European customer target of two million for its pioneering "3" services, which have already been launched in Britain, Italy and Australia and are set to go live in six other countries this year.
Christian Salbaing, head of European telecoms at Hutchison 3G Europe, said new mobile services would be driven by the availability of a wide variety of 3G services, which also include news and sport clips and video cell phone calls.
Controlling access
Playboy said Hutchison's 3 UK service, partly owned by Japan's NTT DoCoMo and Dutch carrier KPN, had already started taking its service last week.
3's exclusive multi-year rights include access to 13 million photos and 2,000 hours of video programming.
The 3 UK spokesman said access to Playboy content would be controlled by a pin number to keep it restricted to adults. All video content on British 3 phones would receive an 18 certificate from the country's regulators, he added.
