That's horrible! I mean if at one given time it's needed OK but to keep doing it is sick and twisted. She should HAVE to get her tubes tied or needs serious medical attention.

This woman has mental health issues. She needs treatment.

How do we know that she's telling the truth? She obviously has a need for attention and publicity. This could be another Ballon-Boy kind of thing.

Exactly. Either way, she would benefit from mental health care.

Considering what she has been through, I can understand why she has mental issues.

Since it's legal why would this be a problem for a woman who get pregnant on purpose and have a abortion each time? Legal is legal, no? Now, people are trying to draw a line here that this kind of an abortion pathway is unacceptable? Am I in an alternate universe or what? So what if there is a few more dead babies out of the millions of abortions? According to some people what she's doing isn't hurting anyone (except, of course, for the little guy in the womb).

Wow... that's kinda of scary and it's so sad... I don't know if she is actually telling the truth. I just read some comments and I agreed one of comments:

This disgusts me. I am absolutely pro-choice, but it horrifies me that a woman could have FIFTEEN abortions and justify it later on by discussing her troubled childhood and psychological issues. I'm sorry, but that's not an excuse. Mistakes happen, and I know that women who've been through abortions need support. But if someone is getting pregnant again and again just to make a point and "rebel" - that is simply perplexing. I don't care how messed up someone's childhood is; ultimately, everyone is responsible for their own actions.

It is brave of this woman to come out and talk about this, but I'm not sure why she needs to share this story. It doesn't make her seem like a sympathetic figure. There are millions of people in the world who have had disturbing childhoods, but not all of them make choices like this. Fifteen abortions? That is simply repulsive.
I really hope no one buys this book. But, that being said, I hope that by writing her story, the author has found some healing and peace, and has been able to deal with her past.

Also, I strongly agreed with the same comment: "I hope that by writing her story, the author has found some healing and peace, and has been able to deal with her past."

Yes, I think she needs some help and find a heal for herself. I hope she can find a support for her, as soon as possible. I, personally, feel sad for her aborted unborn babies..... :(

I knew this deaf woman that had over 5....she even asked me once if I would take her to the clinic to have an abortion, and I refused. Our friendship fizzled after that. As far as her having mental issues, I don't know. She never even knew who the father was of these babies.

She was a very pretty woman, but easily taken advantage of.

That's disgusting. Another reason why abortion should be disallowed unless there are extraordinary circumstances (rape, woman being harmed during birth, incest, child molestation, child could spend their life eating through a tube, etc.)

By making abortion illegal wouldnt have solved this woman's issues. This woman needs help.

While this is true, it wouldn't have needlessly killed completely healthy unborn babies.

When there is a will, there is a way. Back alley abortions could still happen.

She has serious mental issues, similar to the "stud" in Tennessee with 21 kids by age 29. I don't feel I have the right to pick a side on abortion rights, since I'm a guy. This case goes beyond normal rights to choose. I think she needs to be removed from the breeding pool. Ugh...

As long as she keeps having abortion, there's no breeding pool. :P

They need to install a wire brush or something in her vagina, to discourage the donors. :eek3:

That is the whole point. How do we know that her story is the truth? And if she is using abortion as a control, then she had issues prior to ever having that first abortion.

That is like saying someone who cuts has issues because razor blades are available. The issues are present even if razor blades are not available. The same with someone that uses a medical procedure as a form of control.

You cannot deny all women the availability of a medical procedure simply because one disturbed woman abused the right. And if abortions were illegal, she no doubt would have found a back alley abortionist to do her deed, or worse yet, attempted self abortion by using a knitting needle.

The focus of the story is that this is a report about a mentally ill woman who has abused an elective medical procedure, and the fact that her mental health issues have not been addressed during the entire time. More than about abortion, it is about a woman that has not received proper care for her mental health issues.
