A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part III

Figures, when my dishwasher is out of commission and I have to do the dishes by hand, the view out my kitchen window is a mud pile.

How do you pull a muscle leaning forward to look for your slippers? Man, I must get back to the gym.

Dh: What are you hungry for.
Me: I feel like a hamburger.
Dh: You don't look like a hamburger.

That easy to do if you sitting on your bed and leaned over, when I was a health aide we had back safety classes b/c health aides get a lot back injuries on the job.
We were told never to lean over and reach for something , we squat down by using our knees to pick things up and walk around a table or bed to get an object and don't lean over to do it. I hope you'll feel better soon.

It's fine now, thanks. The thing is, I can't squat, my knees won't let me.

I think my mother-in-law uses one. I really should look into it. Bending down can make me dizzy too.
That not good you don't want to fall over while bending ,you could also get a shoes tree and hang it on your bedroom door and keep all your shoes in that and others things to save you from bending down . I had an uncle and aunt that were very short and they owned a mom and pop grocery store , they had a real long grabber to get boxes off of shelves .

Years ago I had an Osteopath (DO rather than MD) tell me that not twisting while bending made more difference than what you were trying to pickup.

I do have a "grabber" but use it for things on a high shelf rather than have to get out and climb a stepstool.
