A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part III

Eliminated all trash, and vaccumed the floor clean of crumbs. Also took care of dirty clothes on the floor, and put them in bags. They have exterminated this unit several times before, and it fails to do its job effectively. And my unit wasn't the only one being cleaned, either, as there was a mandatory inspection yesterday.

hiring a bug exterminator to spray is basic and cost-effective method to keep cockroach infestation low but it will not eliminate the problem. deep cleaning would means the house has to be evacuated for at least a week because they would fumigate the house and/or clean the place with hot steam. they may make a hole in your wall to take a look at inside to see how bad the cockroach infestation is. deep cleaning attacks the root of the problem and it's a very expensive solution as the process may take a month or two.

what you just described is not really deep cleaning. ya gotta try to stop exaggerating the situations.

That doesn't sound like a "deep" cleaning; that sounds like normal housekeeping that you do every day.

I had to check my closet for anything that shouldn't be there that could attract bugs, and there isn't anything in there. Also had to make sure all my food I have now is properly sealed, and if any are open, properly secure them. Whatever I'm doing has led to a large decrease in the critters, because I'm not seeing as many as I did before. Not sure what it is, though. I've also had to kill them a variety of ways, because I do a much better job than that extermination spray they use.

a variety of ways? does it include a spray can and lighter? and Miyagi's chopsticks?

I done told them to fumigate the place. Doubtful they will, because all they care about is $$$$. Plus, City code says there aren't supposed to be any pests whatsoever, and if they persist, then I have probable cause to break the lease early, which I intend to use as soon as I find a satisfactory place next week or so.

LOL. Not quite. Mainly I find them in my bathtub before I freshen up, and I send 'em down the drain. Effective, but it works.

That's good but that's normal basic housekeeping. That's not deep cleaning.

Last night I saw some Christmas decorations in Andersonville and Rogers Park. I'll see if I can get those soon.

This area is one the few in the city where that many trees can be found.

Cockroaches can swim and they'll eat anything not just food . The whole house or building has to be sprayed not just your unit. They're very hard to get rid of . They'll eat soap, glue
wallpaper and live behind it too and inside of pictures that are in a frame. I mean they live in anything , they're not fussy . You have to check anything that has a space to it. I HATE the suckers!

Yes, they can. However, if I use enough water, they will drown. And like I said, I told them to fumingate the place, but I doubt they will, as all they care about is $$$$. That's why if I find a new place to call home I intend to use the 14-day notice, as allowed by law.

Yeah ,I doubt they will fumigate the place too, it does cost $$$. Thy might have put a tent on the whole house and have everyone move out for awhile and put them up someplace else. And you know that will not happen. Did you see the place you been talking about?

Yeah. I thought it was good, until I discovered the true rent. Now I'm gonna look a liitle bit further west-- on Keystone Ave. The rent there should be far cheaper than it is around here. At least that's my hope. I'll need to verify, though. Probably do that this week.
