My spring break starts now! Just got home from my son's tball practice. :)

Cloacal, or vent sexing, was the first method perfected and is the oldest method used today to distinguish between day-old hens and roosters. Although this method is not easy to accomplish, with proper training and experience, the individual performing this method can generally get positive results. This method involves examining the baby chicken's vent, located under its tail, looking for a genital organ. If the genital organ is present in the vent, it will resemble a small pimple and the chicken is a rooster.

How To Determine the Sex of Baby Chickens ? Sexing Chickens

Bet you are glad I was home and able to Google and paste this info! :P

:) indeed it was greatly appreciated! Should have seen the look on her face when I told her. :giggle: She jotted down the link.

Asked her why she wanted to know. She had two of them given to her. They wanted to know because they want to have a rooster and several hens to lay eggs. To start out with.

Finished my ASL class this past Wednesday. I got a 100% on the final test. I am the only person who in all 9 weeks, passed all tests without having my notes out. I had to do a short story again that had words from all of our lessons. Had a decent story involving the zoo and all.

Also, the instructor has had a lot of requests for an additional class, so by invitation only (I got mine today) he will be doing Level 1.5 for 6 weeks for $75 starting in mid-April, the he will be doing Level 2 for 12 weeks for $75 starting in July. I will get to both of those. He has been very apologetic that none of the videos he shows has any captioning and they are VHS. He is going to try to find some that are DVD so he can use a computer to show them with subtitles for me. He is checking dmcp.org
