Naw, I was up playin at Disneyworld's courses. Kinda chilly mornings there for the first few days though. Never felt that cold in florida before.

We had days in the 30's down here in Palm Beach County. Today we got to almost 80, right now at 7:27 it's 73 and muggy - rainy off and on all day, all night tonight and for the next 24-36 hours.

Did you notice that Mr. Brown shirt, tan pants (my pic) was Arnold Palmer?

I thought so, but I didn't want to sound like I knew what I was talking about. He is one of the nicest people. Had dinner with him once while I was dating this other guy.

About leaving the door open to let the cool air in. We had to move to another building because our building had a gas leak so the room we were assigned to was major hot. One of the teachers opened the door to let the air come in but one other teacher went to shut it so she went to open it and she went to shut it and then they started yelling at each other. Really screaming...wow.

I think this situation is pretty simple to resolve. I think the door should be kept closed for safety reason... cuz of gas leak but apparently one of the teachers was feeling hot so she/he should just go wait outside.... unless the kids were dying from heat.

:dunno:

That building was farrrrr from the closed building. We all know what we are doing ..just a very stressful time for many of us because this week we are administering the state assessments and then this happens with the gas leak and having to disrupt our routine. People were just big time stressed out trying to keep up with the schedule and testing due to losing so many days from the snowstorms. It was just a very stressful time for all of us and those two just completely lost it. If the kids were there, they would have not been worrying about the door due to being busy teaching.

oh so it was a group of teachers in a room?

Yeppers...They got called to a meeting by the big boss so Iam sure they got reprimanded. One of the other teachers snapped at me and another teacher this am. I swear, around the time of the state assessments, people become nuts. LOL!

It is time for spring break!!!

:giggle:

I think it'd be funny to be in a staff room when teachers got into a fight.

It can happen, especially where I work many teachers are getting laid off and some demoted, now, that's scary to see staff fightening over a job position.

That's what's happening with the board I'm under. The teachers get "bumped" because of seniority. The school began about 6 years ago and I think that there's only two or three original teachers left.

It is just a very very stressful time for many of us, teachers..having to keep our certifications updated to meet the laws, teaching our students, trying to do all the IEP meetings, administering the assessments, and getting our pay furloughed...as humans, we can only take so much. I dont think we are really respected nor appreciated by society especially those who are in the field of Deaf education.

I agree, its affecting the hearing staff as well. Our school wrote letters to our govenor Schwarznegger to save adult education. Many programs are closing down and not enough money. Very stressful time for teachers and staff to survive.
