Ohhhhh yesssss. You mean you put the third time of primer (white) it still shows some old color? WOW what color did you have before? My hus is planning to re painting the kitchen that he put one white coat then colot. But he made mistakes that he should have paint the primer a little more on it then put the color on it but its not solid yet. oops.

add to edit: I don't paint and my husband is. hehe me bad wife!

Is it something that never had paint before?

Green walls...but now that is is more and more dry, it is looking more and more white. As long as no green shows through, it is ready to be painted with the color I want.

what color you wanted?

what color you wanted?

It is called Chocolate cheesecake...really it is medium brown. It will be used as an accent meaning only one side of the living room will be painted that color.

oh my... how ghastly  I'm a white-wall type

ok - since you have a dark-colored wall (green)... and you want to paint a light-colored wall (i'm assuming it's yellow)... you could paint primer on it.. and then apply white paint on it.... and then apply 2-3 coats of primer. Apply more coating if needed. Wouldn't be surprised if you have to apply 5x cuz dark color can be quite stubborn.

while applying primer - don't skimp on it. give it all you've got!

If your brother's got a better suggestion, let me know so that I'll know what to do if it happens to me. I never had to deal with this kind of problem because my walls are always white but what I just said above is a typical method.
