time for a change of scenario. back from Vermont.... very rainy weekend. wassup?

crap I have pain serious headache! and pain my stomach suck!

I have been vegging out and watching Stargate SG1 on DVD for the last week or so. We also have hubby's aunt and her new hubby coming for a one day visit from CA this next Monday (14th). Our cat Tinkerbell is having her 5th birthday today. We are beginning our Spring cleaning early. Have been finding mildew on the walls, so we are doing a bleach wash where we can. Have to be careful with the paneling in the dining room. I think it's been slowly growing since the hurricanes came in. MIL did not replace the carpet. She just had Stanley Steemer come in and dry them, then do a shampoo. Doesn't seem right to me. Counting down the time we are here. Come on May 2012.

Coming back to California any time soon? Weather is strange, today was great!

Ferrets sleep about 22 hours. But for the two that they are awake, they are incredibly cute and fun.

I'd say so. They seem to sleep longer once they reach the senior age.

What age is your oldest cat?

Right now, 6.

She will be 7 later this month, along with another. There will be 7, 7, 5, 4, 4.

Funnily enough, it is the one that will be 7 soon that still behaves like a kitten. She is the only one who doesn't sleep 20 hours a day. She run around the house like crazy. I can't hear her do this as she goes from one floor to another (I live in a 4-level home) my SO always says "Abby is at it again!" as he can hear her. I swear, if I could sew motorized wings on her she would fly everywhere.

The original suggestion that Travis sleep 15 hours a day was to reduce his "self defined" high stress levels. Stress decreases while sleeping. Then the additional source of more stress reduction- 2 hours of swimming. That takes up a lot of the day.
Violia: a new Travis from Saskatoon!

Implanted Advanced Bionics-Harmony activated Aug/07

Abby sounds like a bundle of fun :)

My cat is now 13 and well, it'll be a new experience for me to look after an senior cat.

I think lots of love and good food will do the trick :) (And probably more vet visits. Been there and done that. :) )

Tinkerbell is 5 today and she is a whirling dervish these days. Giver her a small receipt rolled into a ball and she will run all over for at least 30 minutes before collapsing and catching her breath. Now, we find out, she can turn on the bathroom faucet to get fresh water. It is a lever type handle and not a round one. It's funny, but the vet says she was overweight at her last checkup in December. They said you could not feel her rib bones. Well, she is more active in our house and now, we can feel the ribcage with no problem. Sammy will be 4 in November and his nickname is Sam-so-nite. He eats and sleeps. Does not play very much. So the nickname is for the dependable and rugged solid luggage. :giggle:

That's cute. I have all sorts of nicknames for our cats too. For instance, our 2 youngest, the ones that are 4, their real names are Friday (girl) and 13 (boy) because we got them on Friday the 13th. Yet my SO deemed it appropriate to just call them Girl Kitty and Boy Kitty. They are brother and sister. Boy Kitty is a fruitcake.
