Thought alldeaf was interesting to me. As a fan of hearing i'm just stopping by to say hello to everyone. As a long time hearing
expert I was never deaf nor intend to be, but I do know a couple.

See you in the forums!

We take interest in it because we value our handicap.

A "pro" in hearing... AND an "expert"... Impressive resume you've got there

Wow, TE, it seems you keep jumping from the frypan into the fire. Most Deaf do not consider themselves disabled or "handicapped", except by the uneducated opinions of others.

Perhaps you might browse some of the postings by the true experts on this forum, the Deaf and HOH community. It may help with knowing politically correct and acceptable terminology, but you may also be surprised about how much more we consumers know than you give us credit.

sweetie, you need to work on your vocubulary as i get familiar with those words I used to talk with. ;)

:welcome:

Welcome  Just to let you know, we already have several people expert at hearing (hearing people)

A little bit about our "handicap." I am hard of hearing and DO NOT consider myself "handicapped" at all. I enjoy my culture, deaf culture, and my language, sign language. Be careful with the terminology you use, it can be offensive. Many deaf and HOH do not consider themselves handicapped at all, in fact they, myself included, cherish our language and culture. I encourage you to do some research as to the abilities of deaf versus other handicaps...
