I confess... this is my least favorite "holiday" of the year.
I confess that i have gotten like almost no sleep the past two nights, and i confess that I HATE VALENTINES DAY1!! why? because i am single.
I'll tell the teacher - 'EPIC FAIL!'

My sister tells me she hates Valentine's Day because she's married. She says Valentine's Day is for singles to flirt. She says married people should do nice things to each other all the time, and it's more special when it's unexpected rather than a planned day once each year.
So do something nice for yourself today. Can't depend on others to make you feel special. You have to do that for yourself, whether you are single or in a realtionship.
Valentine's Day is nothing more than a bunch of commercialism, anyway. Don't buy into the materialism of the day.
No offense... but valentines day is for singles to sit alone, and watch sappy love movies, alone. and Couples and married people to buy stupid cards that will be trashed by monday.
I think that you may have some built and pent up anger about this day. I don't know how it happened, but, do take note --
Granted, it is special for some people, however do keep in mind that it is only those who want to celebrate this culturally created day.
V-day doesn't exist for many countries outside the US, did you pause for a second to think of that? They don't even have a day that they celebrate their cherished ones or better yet, don't have to worry about it.
It's only if it gets to you then you'll have a bad day. Don't let it do that. Just reverse it around if you can.
I kind of am, my stepdad left for a family thingy, and my mom and i are going to have girls night in.
...I thought you were supposed to celebrate your cherished ones every day. I would hate for my husband to only show me that he loved and appreciated me once a year.
...And maybe i am angry... I just broke up with my fience a few months ago.
That's what I was secretly hinting at.
You've got the right idea going! Just as the Beatles say, "Let it be."
I confess that this valentines kinda suck. I don't know why we have this day while many other countries don't have one. I think it's just a money making scheme.
Hubby takes Miss Kat out on V-day. It is a tradition. It started when she was 8 months old. We do it so that some snot-nosed punk can't take her out when she's 16. She already has a date!
It is a money making scheme....
What are you going to do when Miss Kat decides that she wants to go out with that 16 year old???
Say no! She has a previous engagement. Sorry.
So---she is not going to date?
Of course she'll date. Just not Valentines Day. She will have her Daddy to show her how a man should treat her that day.
Shouldn't Daddy show her how a man should treat her by demonstrating it with you?
