AquaBlue, I forgot to mention about performance in previous post.
If you want run multi-task, such as run internet browser, IM, Google Earth, Quicktime, MS Office or other programs at same time then Core 2 Duo for you, also need 1 GB RAM for XP or 2 GB RAM for Vista.
If you want run few programs, such as MS Office at once or using internet or IM at same time then Pentium D for you, same RAM as applied at first.
At final, good luck with your purchase of new laptop.
I never recommended on Celeron, unless if you need running few programs at less hogs or run big program at once.
