2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs..

Now we know 3 series have ended.. San Jose and Chicago will meet for the first time ever in the playoffs.. this time for the Western Conference title.. and Montreal will now have to wait for either Boston or Philadelphia to emerge from the other Semifinal series to face off for the Eastern Conference title.. will post playoff history soon enough on that...
 
I woudlnt be surprised if Game 7 of the Boston/Philadelphia series will go to overtime or so.. might be one wild ending of the game for sure... that game is tonite btw.. dont miss it or ya gonna be a skunk!!!! hahhaa....
 
OH holy cow... Philadelphia has done the impossible.. came back from a 3 games to 0 lead by Boston to win 4 straight games!!!!! AND Philadelphia now joins the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs and 1975 New York Islanders as the only NHL team to come back from behind 3-0 to win the entire series 4 games to 3!!!!!! WOW!!! Holy cow man...

Eastern Conference Semifinals..

Montreal has booted out the 2009 Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins in 7 games and will now face off vs the Philadelphia Flyers... wow I didnt think Montreal would kick Pittsburgh out but wow...

Philadelphia, tonite has eliminated Boston from the playoffs with a 4 games to 3 series victory and will face Montreal...

Western Conference Semifinals...

San Jose has gotten rid of Detroit in 5 games and will now face Chicago for the Western Conference title... I was thinking SJ would roll good on Detriot, judging from the wins in Game 1 and 2 and 3 but Detroit tried to make a series out of it but to no chance, SJ ended it fast ....

Chicago managed to get moving past Vancouver 4 games to 2 and will go on to the 2nd Western Conference Final berth in the last 2 years...

Montreal Canadiens @ Philadelphia Flyers

Montreal and Philadelphia will meet for the 6th time.... will the Habs continue their magical season or will Philly put the orange squat on Montreal and advance next?

Folks, we will see Chicago and San Jose clash for the first time ever in the playoffs, as they will meet for the rights to be Western Conference champs and go to the Stanley Cup Final.. will Chicago finally get back to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1992 or will San Jose get over the hump and go on to their first ever franchise appearance in the Stanley Cup Final and maybe win the Cup after these years? Time will tell if SJ is successful or not....

There ya have the history and etc.. btw, Montreal, Philadelphia and Chicago have won Stanley Cup titles and San Jose is the only one not to have a Stanley Cup to franchise credit so it would be possible to see the Sharks get their fins on the Stanley Cup finally...
 
LOL I wish, man.. but it would be cool to be standing beside the Stanley Cup...

Yeah the SJ Sharks might be favored but either Montreal (1993) or Chicago (1961) or Philadelphia (1975) could claim their first Cup after a long period of time without any championship title...

Both the Conference Final games are scheduled for tomorrow as today is a off day.. after tomorrow, another off day and then the individual games will go alternately till both are finished for the Stanley Cup Final to start after...

Chicago Blackhawks 4 - San Jose Sharks 0... Chicago has brought out the brooms to sweep San Jose out of the playoffs and win the Western Conference title and are the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy champs... now Chicago is back in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1992 (a 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh Penguins)... and will await either Philadelphia or Montreal to face off for the Stanley Cup....

BUT I would have thought SJ would shred the choker cover but oh well... there's always next year or so... now I can cheer on Chicago as there is a guy from Manitoba that is playing for the Hawks.. Jonathan Toews #19... gonna be great to see him lead the Hawks to a title finally after 49 years of no Stanley Cup titles for Chicago...

Philadelphia Flyers have punched their ticket to the 2010 Stanley Cup Final by beating the surprising Montreal Canadiens 4 games to 1 to win the Eastern Conference title and the Prince of Wales Trophy as champions... now Philly and Chicago will meet in the Stanley Cup Final that will start this weekend.. will post playoff history and series matchups later on...
 
Ladies and germs, here the 2010 Stanley Cup Final... we have from the Western Conference, the Chicago Blackhawks, who is really a huge favorite to possible win it all due to some players like Jonathan Toews (from my ghometown to boot!!) and Patrick Kane and more... can Chicago go to war and win it finally after 49 years of no Stanley Cup titles? And from the Eastern Conference we got the Philadelphia Flyers who many thought would have be a top contender for their strenght and prowling goal scorers but they had a bad start to the season and rebounded good enough to go all the way... Philadelphia would be delighted to have a Stanley Cup title finally after many years....

Playoff History between Chicago and Philadelphia:

1971 Chicago 4 - Philadelphia 0 in quarterfinal round

That's it for the only playoff meeting in history for both Chi and Phil.. weird huh?? Back then when the Flyers came in as an expansion team among with 5 other teams in 1967, Chicago was part of the Original 6 team setup (Chi, Bos, Mtl, NYR, Tor and Det) and Philly joined along with Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota North Stars (now Dallas Stars), St. Louis Blues and Oakland Seals (later renamed California Seals, then California Golden Seals, then moved to Cleveland as the Barons and merged with the North Stars after 1977-78 season), so Chicago was in one division with the 5 other Original 6 teams... Philadelphia was in the new division created for all 6 expansion teams.. that is why Chicago and Philadelphia has rarely met in the playoffs, still played each other in the regular season a bit more...
