One of my friends who lives in North Carolina was recently bitten by a shark on her leg a few weeks ago in the ocean. I dont know if her story was shared in the news.

There was another attack in Daytona Beach....these other attacks occurred in NC...so it's possible about ur friend....Very scary!...Seems the Sharks are coming up very close to the shoreline.

Wondering about those Surfers!...Playing with death.

Lets see if they harpoon a shark

30-40 sharks spotted off Martin County coast

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - Chopper 5 spotted a large school of sharks just off the Martin County coast Thursday morning.

Just north of the Stuart Inlet, WPTV’s Johann Hoffend said there about 30 to 40 sharks about 500 feet off shore.

Earlier in the week, St. Lucie County closed their beaches after sharks were spotted near the coast.

On Wednesday, a 10-year-old boy was bitten by a shark in Daytona Beach Shores.

I am curious... is this above the normal yearly incidents?

See,,Why you think we have deer hunting season? Cause they're too many deer running around. So we need more fishermen to hunt sharks. That creates more jobs!

Have you ever considered seeing a psychologist or mental health professional on a regular basis? I recommend you look into it soon. Thank you.

I'm not NCCF nor do I play him on forums but...

sure.. solutions?

1. Close beaches (as they did in Florida) when there is a threat)
2. Don't go to the beach and/or don't go in the ocean.

Simple as that.

Closing the beach is the better of the choices than going out and killing them. I don't think there is an 'overabunance' of sharks- yet. Deer hunting... it used to be for survival means, now it's for thinning the herd because-- oh look at that- man encroached upon THEIR habitat.

Ask your local sheriff and judge to have him extradited to NC for mental treatment in state hospital.

The sharks obviously know that school is out for the summer and have come to the beach to feed on the young people since they know they don't like the taste of the older tough people who come to the beach when school is in session!

True...but was too busy at the time...and do not live by an ocean... I do not always trust data given on internet....so figured throw the question out there...

Lived on the Beach for 5 years...never saw a Shark that close to shore....:hmm:...there were some Surfers at one time tho', that a Shark was right on the tail of the surf board....everybody was hollering and the Surfer was paddling his board like crazy...he made it!....I always go ankle deep at the Beach, no farther than that....Seems the movie "Jaws" scared the crap out of me. so I became very alert to where I was wading in the water.
